He’s old, and ailing, possibly suffering from cancer, and he has been dumped at a busy, high-intake animal shelter in California at the time of his life when he needs his family the most. The senior dog, named “Rocko,” has been at the Baldwin Park Animal Services facility since August 18.
Volunteer photographer, Pat Gregoire, captured Rocko’s obvious confusion over the loss of his home and family in a poignant image. In a Facebook post to help Rocko find help, she wrote:
Rocko is a sweet 12 yr old male white/black pit bull mix who was surrendered on 8/18/17. He most likely needs a ‘compassion’ pull by a rescue. Another volunteer suggested that he most likely has cancer. He is calm and doesn’t appear to be in pain right now.
This sweet elder needs the help of strangers right now – his own family will not be assisting him. Please take a moment to network Rocko’s adoption information. He is an old boy who needs to be with someone who cares about him – not alone in a stark kennel run, surrounded by barks and cries.
