A miserable dog, suffering from demodex mange (a treatable and non-contagious skin condition), desperately wants to be loved. Barney is currently in the custody of DeKalb County Animal Services in Decatur, Georgia and shelter staff want nothing more than to find a home for this sweet boy.

On July 13, a plea was made on Barney’s behalf:

Barney isn’t feeling too hot right now, but he knows it is all up from here! This sweet boy wants nothing but love and cuddles. He came to us with itchy skin, but is on the mend and would love to heal outside of the shelter. A foster or forever home would be a dream come true for Barney! Meet Barney at LifeLine’s DeKalb Animal Services.

On Wednesday, the Facebook page for the animal shelter wrote:

Barney is still in need! He has demodex mange, which is non-contagious and very treatable! We supply his medication and vet care to his foster home at no cost. This pup needs out of the shelter ASAP so he can heal in a calm environment. Do you have a place in your heart and home for him? Meet him at LifeLine’s DeKalb Animal Services at 845 Camp Rd in Decatur!

dear Barney, I would take this pooch in a heart beat, but I am in the middle of a bankruptcy situation, and struggling to make ends meet for my 2 pups and 4 cats(plus the family of feral cats that I am feeding) but there must be someone out there who can take this loving doggie in.
