Meghan Markle’s beagle has two broken legs, and the actress engaged to Prince Harry is said to be “distraught”. The rescue pooch, named Guy, has been described as “Meghan’s absolute world.”

According to the Daily Mail, the dog was injured after Clarence House announced the couple’s engagement. Guy had been flown to London from Toronto where the actress had been living and working. In order to enter the United Kingdom, Guy had to be microchipped, have proof of a rabies vaccination and then have a blood test 30 days later. There have been no reports how the dog was injured, however for the royal pooch to be – by marriage, is currently under the care of Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, renowned for his bionic surgery techniques.

Meghan did not bring her Labrador and shepherd mix dog named Bogart to London after it was decided he was too old to make the long flight and the quarantine requirements.

“One [dog] is now staying with very close friends and my other, little Guy, he’s in the UK, he’s been here for a while,” Meghan announced in an earlier interview.

Prince Harry has joined Meghan visiting Guy at a veterinarian hospital in Surrey. The Kensington Palace has not responded to any questions about Guy’s condition.
