Man accused of shooting woman over a barking dog

Man accused of murdering woman after dog confrontation

A woman in Spring, Texas, is dead after one of her neighbors allegedly shot her when she confronted him because he kicked at her dog. According to Wednesday’s KHOU News, on Tuesday afternoon, the shooter, identified as Hector Campos, allegedly killed the owner of a small dog who had ventured into his yard.

The 53-year-old victim apparently yelled at Campos after she saw him kick her small dog – the violence broke out shortly thereafter. According to multiple reports, a third neighbor, who had his own gun, detained Campos until the authorities arrived to the scene.

WCNC News reported that a witness to the fatal incident saw the woman’s small dog barking at Campos before he kicked at the dog, prompting the confrontation between the 53-year-old victim and the alleged shooter. Residents in the area have stated that Campos, and the woman, had an ongoing dispute over barking dogs and some have speculated that it was the barking which pushed the alleged shooter over the edge.

I hope he’s happy, Now he can spend his days in jail listening to inmates instead of a barking dog! This woman did what most of us would have done, defend our dog! I guess we all must live in fear of these gun toting idiots that can’t handle anything without their gun!

What an asshole! My sincere condolences to the family. I hope the dog isn’t homeless. Meaning I hope some family member will take him/her in.

I hate nonstop barking. But to take a life? Wow, extreme. RIP to the dog’s person that lost her life defending her pet. Too bad the dog was allowed to “wander”.
