According to the Shropshire Star, a firefighter was lowered down into the mine shaft with ropes to retrieve the dog. He was then able to carry her up the shaft and up to safety. The Wellington Station fire crew tweeted that the dog named Pippa had luckily survived the fall, and surprisingly she was in excellent condition.
Less than two hours later, Pippa was returned to her owner. Many thanks to the firemen and rescue workers who rush to the rescue of those who cannot speak. Pippa is obviously one lucky dog!
