Loyal dog waited four days at mailbox for owner to return

In Hohenwald, Tennessee, a Good Samaritan spent four days trying to lure a loyal dog from a mailbox where he was abandoned by his owner. The kind woman who had been feeding the friendly Australian pooch stated he liked other dogs and was well-behaved.cliff-bethke-2

If anyone thinks dogs are loyal only because they depend upon their humans to provide food and shelter, researchers profess a different scenario; that dogs are fiercely loyal because they evolved as pack animals. According to  Dr. Stephen Zawistowski, former science adviser for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, once dogs move “into our homes and into our lives, our families have become their pack.” And it’s never a matter of how much we give to our dogs – dogs are just happy to be loved, and every moment we spend with them just makes them love us more; thus we perceive dogs just as happy cuddling up to their homeless person on a street corner or living in a mansion on a king-sized bed.

So how does an owner just abandon their dog along a rural road in Tennessee? We can only wish that dogs could talk and tell us their tragic plights. For this dog, however his luck has changed for 2017. Lucky Break Pet Rescue has intervened, and on New Year’s Eve announced on their Facebook page this young dog can now look forward to a better life thanks to all of the advocates who joined in and helped:cliff-bethke-3

Still amazes me how someone can be cold hearted enough to abandon their dog. The one thing is this world who loves you unconditionally…..so sad. Hope he find someone who will give him the love he deserves.

So sad to see this boy staying by the one small thing he knows, that once belonged to him! Seeing him makes me want to shake some sense (maybe slap them a couple of times) to his former cowardly owners who abandoned him. Thank you to the Lady who fed and watched over him. Sending prayers and hugs to him that his forever family is waiting for him and will find him.

It truly breaks your heart to read about things like this doesn’t it. The owner who dumped this precious soul doesn’t deserve to have it back, or any animal for that matter! it’s disgusting. Fair enough, it may be a pack animal but I think animals have an inherent goodness and innocence that humans no longer seem to possess, generally. They clearly don’t take into consideration the heartless acts that we are capable of and this lovely one stayed put knowing (falsely) that it’s owner/s would return. So, so sad. Here’s wishing you a loving family and home precious one ❤️
