Two weeks ago, a dog dubbed “Caci” was beaten and left to die. The smokey gray pit bull’s head was unimaginably swollen – nobody knows for sure what happened to Caci, but there have been reports that her severe injuries are the result of being beaten with a bat.

Fortunately, much has changed for Caci – in the time that has passed since the painful day that she was discovered, the swelling in her head has all but disappeared. On April 15, New York Bully Crew, the rescue agency which has stepped up to raise funds for her ongoing veterinary care, updated Facebook followers about Caci’s current condition:

It is DAY 13 of treatment. #Caci is getting Wet to Dry dressing changes as part of her wound care. This aids in the debridement and removal of the dead skin and in turn promotes healing. Caci’s necrotic, dead tissue from her injuries is falling off as it should, but it leaves huge open wounds. These wounds still need to be cleaned and treated daily with dressing changes so infection doesn’t set in. She still has a road ahead of her, but we will all be beside #Caci on her journey!!
Thank you to all that have prayed, supported and contributed to Caci’s wellbeing thus far. Your well wishes have carried her along this past week.

The goal is to move Caci from her current location in Puerto Rico, to New York – but she must continue to recover before the transport can happen. To help support Caci’s ongoing treatment, donations are being collected here.

Who in their right mind would do this to a Poor Defenseless Dog should be put in Prison for a very long time. I hope and Pray that they find the POS that done this.

John, I am to the point that prison as punishment isn’t harsh enough for these POS that hurt animals and children. Let the people take the punishment into their own hands.

Maybe prison plus someone beating their head in the same way and dump him somewhere…it is disgusting how people treat animals today it just brings tears to my eyes…I really wondering what are we showing the youth of today?!?!

      • Nancy Raymond says:

I agree w/you, Cindy, 100% – prison sentences are no more than a slap on the hand imposed by judges who consider animal cruelty as seriously as littering – these bastards should be given to those who care about animals and let the punishment fit the crime. I would sign up for that in a heartbeat.

      • Rev. Dr. Yvonne Ray says:

We need to all call, write and/or email our state representatives and senators and urge them to pass much tougher animal abuse laws. Then we have to hold judges accountable to enforce laws.

The assholes responsible for thus needs to have the same thing done to them and then thrown under the prison.

I do recall a vet made a comment from Caci’s previous post when found that he did not believe it was a head trauma, but, an infection.

BEAUTIFUL DOG!!!!! WE PRAY EVERYDAY THAT ANYONE WHO HURTS OR KILLS LOVING ANIMALS WILL BE SENT TO HELL FOREVER BY GOD AND JESUS!!! AMEN!!!!

Evil people who do this are most likely so sold out to Satan that they will never repent and accept a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. So, I reiterate, we don’t have to pray they will go to hell. Their rejection of Jesus Christ will send them there. But their wicked deeds on earth will determine their degree of punishment in hell. I’d like to see them punished on earth as well.

  4. Joyce Dutrisac says:

Filthy coward bastard to beat an innocent dog this badly the face is almost indistinguishable
    How terribly tragic and sad
I would pay to have a baseball bat and the asshole who did this would feel pain like he has never experienced in lif life

The King James Bible – God’s very words and his instruction manual for our lives – tells us that hell will enlarge itself. Part of the reason for that is obviously to contain subhuman children of Satan who would dare harm God’s innocent creatures – the most vulnerable among us.

Thanks for responding before I had a chance to. At least one vet believes the dog was not beaten at all but that this was simply a massive and fast spreading infection. I hope that is the case and this poor dog wasn’t also beaten.

I am tired of all people praying while you do not push the laws to educate the huge amount of psychopaths we create when we tolerate this kind of violence innocent. Humans want a peaceful world but when they see injustice they just ask for a god to solve the problem. We deserve what we enable! The people who did this, tomorrow will do it to a baby, as violence always scalates.

Sasha how do u know what we animal lovers on this site do and do not do,????? As one of many animal advocates that work TIREDLESSLY to pass and enact good strong animal cruelty laws it lies with the government officials we vote into office to be our voice, and who CONTINUALLY,year after year DENY us the laws we want for our communities and our state! It’s frustrating, hard work! We the tax payers pay these lawmakers pay checks only to be ignored on this issue! And for the better laws we did manage to get passed we now have the judicial system NOT imposing the harsher punishment available to the abusers, which of course just enables, condones and enables the abuser! Then we have society that loves dogs and cats and KNOWS about the crime of animal cruelty BUT do NOT know the extent and depth of it because they can’t bear to hear the dirty details! THE ABUSE OF DOGS AND CATS IS RAMPANT and until the laws include MANDATORY JAIL TIME it will continue to grow and flourish! It is the special interest groups with their millions(BIG AG) that drive what laws we get for our state and our communities and NOT “we the people” the way government is suppose to work! This war with our local and state government on this issue has been going on for a VERY long time and they are only going to ba able to ignore us for so long because we are NOT going away or giving up any time soon! So I as U Sasha…… WHAT ARE U DOING TO CHANGE THIS DEPRAVED HORROR CALLED ANIMAL CRUELTY???? FYI…..UNTIL STRONG LAWS ARE ENACTED AND HARSH PUNISHMENT IS IMPOSED WE WILL NEVER,EVER BEGIN TO PUT A DENT IN THIS HORRIBLE CRIME!!! IT HAS TO START AT THE TOP WITH THE LAWMAKERS AND THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM…..PERIOD!!! We comment about praying to God out of frustration and the terrible feeling of helplessness and pain about not being able to change the situation IMMEDIATELY!! Ur comment was crude, rude and MEAN!!!!!!!!

What have you done if you’re so quick to judge? Oh btw….we don’t create psychopaths they’re born that way!

when I see the ridiculous number of cruelty to animals stories, it makes me so sick to my stomach & cringe with disgust at human beings. How can tere be SOOOOOO MANY people who want to hurt helpless animals, AND WHY? Then I wonder how MANY MORE are there that people don’t even know about. WHY? I don’t understand why there’s such a massive amount of animal abuse. One thing I DO KNOW, the punishment needs to be SWIFT AND SEVERE. Maybe,… hopefully, that will help decrease this hideous, sickening f’d up epidemic.

Michelle we live in a cruel, cruel, cruel sick and inhumane world and it is stomach churning! The extent and depth of abuse, neglect, abandonment, and torture of companion animals is so rampant and jaw dropping! And until our law makers and the judicial system get with the program and start doing what’s right, this horror will continue to grow and flourish at jet speed! Even after fighting long and hard to get animal cruelty classified as a felony is a lot of states most judges are not handing down any kind of harsh punishment and by not harshly punishing these evil asswipes the courts are essentially condoning, aiding and protecting these monsters! For the life of me I just don’t get it! So now we will have to fight to elevate animal cruelty from a class 3 felony to a class 2 felony in hopes that these despicable abusers are sufficiently punished! It truly is unacceptable to give these jerks a slap on the wrist for what they do!
