A sizable reward has been offered in an animal cruelty case which left a puppy without one of his legs. According to the Post and Courier, the Charleston Animal Society has offered a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and felony conviction of whoever shot a puppy in early December.

By the time the eight-month-old pup, dubbed L’il Buck, was found, one of his legs was so badly infected that it had to be amputated. Charleston Animal Society Director of Anti-Cruelty and Outreach Aldwin Roman has stated that all of the birdshot could not be removed, “Some of the buckshot that tore through his body is still in there, and unfortunately, it will remain for the rest of his life.”

The cruelty case is under investigation by Charleston County sheriff’s deputies, and the injured puppy continues his recuperation in a foster home. Lil Buck’s ongoing veterinary care has been made possible by donations to the animal shelter’s medical fund – click here to learn more about the fund, and how you can help.

  1. Police need to find the thing(s) that did this to this pup and put them in jail where the inmates take care of them especially the dog loving inmates

  2. I hope justice will prevail, and for the evil monster that is responsible may your karma awaits you for the rest of your sorry worthless life!

  3. Prayers for this little guy. My Buddy, who I adopted at age 8, had buckshot in his foot when he was found – two of his toes on that foot had already been amputated. We assumed it was a hunting accident – at least we HOPE it was an accident. At any rate, it never bothered him for the rest of his life (he died from a tumor on his spleen) so hopefully Lil Buck won’t have any ill effects from what remains in his body.

  4. Whoever, or rather whatever maggot did this to Lil Buck definitely needs a dose of their own medicine – this bastard will more than likely never be caught, but SOMEONE knows who it is and if they have any conscience or maybe any greed for the reward – they will turn them in. If not, then I hope this bottom feeder gets their just due and ends up dying slowly in the gutter while people just step over him. They deserve NO mercy. May Lil Buck get the safe loving home he never had.
