Update 1/20/17: Adopted!
A gorgeous dog named “Trixie” has found herself suddenly homeless after her family’s landlord told them that she was no longer allowed. Sadly, Trixie is now sitting behind bars at an animal control agency that is filled to capacity – a situation which means that every homeless pet is at risk of being put down due to space constraints.
The volunteer-run Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, wrote:
TRIXIE is a beautiful girl and after living with her family their landlord suddenly wouldn’t allow her so they dropped her off at the Completely FULL Shelter and put her in danger.
Trixie’s time is limited – owner surrendered dogs have no “safe” period of time because the facility knows that a family is not searching for their pet. Please help Trixie find her way to safety by taking a moment to network her adoption information.

they should sue the landlord for discrimination ,landlord cant ok pets then change mind because they don’t like the breed or the size
I was wondering the same thing. They were allowed to have the dog no doubt with the landlord’s permission and then he changes his mind? I would have told him “sue me” and kept the dog.
I agree.
THATS CORRECT IF THEY HAD IT WHEN MOVED IN THEY CANT CHANGE MID STREAM…. THIS IS HORRIFIC THAT POS PPL DO THIS AND NOW THIS FUR BABY WILL NOT BE WITH FAMILY JUST WRONG ….. FIGHT IT
That’s awful how can the landlord do that to the poor dog like really
Why didn’t they try to work something out? Get help? Contacting rescues, praying for miracle…
I would be suing that landlord . How can a dog be allowed and suddenly not?
I always find this appalling! Obviously Trixie was allowed to live there for some time, why is she no longer wanted!. There should be a law that if a landlord no longer wants pet in their properties, the ones already there should be allowed to stay until they die or the family is able to find new housing. I would imagine not allowing your dog anymore should be a lease breaker, so move and find a place for you and your pet! I pray that Trixie finds a new home!
They are breaking their / YOUR
lease sue them
It is quite sad that a Landlord decided that a dog was NO longer allowed. I would check my lease and see if the Landlord was the right to do that. Also, I would check with an Attorney to see what course of action the family can take. If there is a means of paying a Pet Deposit and get the dog back would be great!
How can the Landlord do that, after allowing Trixie to be there? I suppose it’s an oral month-to-month lease and can be changed anytime. I know one thing….there’s no way I would live there without my dog. I wish the family could have found another way to keep Trixie.
What an asshole landlord!!! Pets are family, and should not have been allowed from the beginning, if that was the case. They could have rented a different home!
PLEASE SAVE HER LIFE DONT KILL HER SHE NEEDS A HOME SOME HELP HER
This landlord is a idoit
This is just not right. The Landlord should not have made the decision to do this without any regards to the dog. He needs to be punished.
sharing Trixie <3
Please get this dog out of this shelter asap.
That is if the Landlord is to blame. You never know it could be an excuse to get rid of the dog. These days its hard to say.
I had the same thing happen to me several years ago. When I moved into my apartment pets were allowed, then several monthes later the landlord said anyone with pets would have to get rid of them to continue staying there, Well I certainly wasn’t going to get rid of my pets. Luckily I had a boyfriend (later my husband) that said I could move into his house with ny pets and my daughter. Then the landlord wanted to sue ME for breaking the lease. I got a lawyer and won my case because the landlord was the one who broke the lease by changing the rules. Sometimes justice does conquer all.
