A pup, recently hailed a hero for alerting her owner to a fire at an apartment complex in Huntsville, Alabama, is being booted out because of her breed. According to Live 5 News, apartment management has determined that the white, mixed breed pup looks enough like an “aggressive” breed (pit bull) that she is not allowed to live there.
Amos Smith owns Queen Snow and he is devastated that he is being asked to leave with his pup – he told Live 5 News, “I mean, it’s going to kill me. You know, I’ve only had her for like two or three weeks, but this is my dog. I love her like a child. This is my child.”
Just last week, the five-month-old puppy alerted Smith to an early morning fire at the apartment – because of Queen’s behavior, Smith woke up and heard someone calling for help. After a call to 9-1-1, firefighters arrived and were able to save a man inside of his burning residence.
But no good deed goes unpunished – the management at the complex considers the puppy to be an aggressive breed so she, and her owner, have to leave. Smith said that he was told, “She might have done one thing good. That’s what they said. She might have done one thing good but that doesn’t make up for her being a pit bull.”

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you need to do more than “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”
