A disturbing video has gone viral, after a man in Stoke-on-Trent was filmed carrying a lamb by its fleece down a rural lane and then throwing it over a fence into a field. According to the FarmingUK, the animal may have had a broken leg and is seen struggling to stand up. What is just as sickening is the two men could be heard laughing in the video.
The central England clip has been retweeted more than 100,000 times with the area’s Labour MP Gareth Snell responding to social media pressure to investigate the distressing situation. As of this time, the RSPCA continues to ask the public for more information as to the identity of the men. Rachel Butler, spokesperson for the animal welfare organization located in the Midlands, stated the video was indeed very upsetting to view.
“It clearly shows a man throw a sheep over a fence into a field, followed by laughing. The sheep lands on its back and appears to have what looks like a broken leg. The animal is obviously struggling to stand up and walk.”
It is unknown if the lamb was already injured when the man tossed it in the field or if it had already sustained the injury and that was the inhumane and completely heartless manner the man thought to get rid of the animal from his herd.
Anyone who recognizes these two men or has information is asked to contact the RSPCA’s appeals line on 0300 123 8018. All calls will be confidential.
