Heartless owners abandoned caged dogs as monster storm approaches

On Saturday, a disgusted Facebook user posted a photo of caged dogs, abandoned by their owners, at a rest stop in Tallahassee, Florida. The individual wrote:

This is a Rest Stop in Tallahassee Florida.
People are leaving their pet’s there with the hope that they will be rescued {???}

Apparently, the person who took the photo already had her vehicle loaded with dogs she was rescuing from the area and she could not put these abandoned dogs in her car.

The dogs in this particular photo were rescued…are there others awaiting a terrible fate? It’s likely. Who abandons dogs, in cages, as one of the largest recorded hurricanes is about to hit? Who is cold-hearted enough to walk away from helpless pets, leaving them to endure the wrath of a massive storm?

Tragically, this horrific behavior is not unheard of – according to the Palm Beach County Animal Control, dozens of pets have been abandoned by owners who have fled the area. To those who have, it is illegal and the authorities will take action.

I hope whoever does this to their pets finds karma ASAP, by the name of Irma.

Please, God, rescue every single one of these innocent pets whose despicable trash owners has done this!

Are you kidding me!! This is BULLSHIT how dare they, too much of this going on sick of these people.
I would not hesitate to put them in a cage let them go through the emotions and fear that these animals are going through not understanding, their cages will be locked so they cannot get out as to where animals don’t have a choice to open the cage door.
Need a Wall of Shame, picture up and to never be near or have an animal ever again period!

OMG: I can’t believe how cruel these POS “owners” are to leave these helpless treasures…….

SMH & crying as I am in CA……
I feel helpless and I am available to foster.

Smart enough to save themselves but NOT their pets! What a place to leave your dogs… No kind of shelter just outside in the wide open!

  6. Pamela Garlisch says:

I hope when they are leaving these poor babies, they run out of gas and get swept away, never to be seen again. Would serve them right!

These scum could have taken their dogs to a shelter rather than dump them.Such cruel and heartless people and these animals are better off without these things as owners. No note food, nothing, just left in a cage. I am ashamed to be a human when I hear and see things like this.

What the fuck is wrong w/these so called ‘humans’???? To leave animals caged that cannot even fend for themselves is beyond cruel???? Selfish, self centered, cruel and human garbage cannot even slightly describe people who did this – YOU knew this storm was coming and DID NOTHING for YOUR animals, then when mandatory evacuation was implemented, your ONLY concern was for yourselves. A prime example of how low humanity has sunk. It is a federal law that rescues must take animals w/their humans – apparently you could have cared less.

SICKENING! But nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to the disgusting and inhuman treatment of companion animals….especially when they need humans the most. Thank God for the wonderful, kind and compassionate animal rescuers and animal lovers we have. And yes it’s illegal but no action will be taken for it and we all know it! Law enforcement will be dealing with the human aftermath and the animals will take a back seat as they always do. It will be all the animal rescuers will descend upon Florida who will be the animals saviors! GOD BLESS ALL THE HELPLESS ANIMALS WHO WILL SUFFER AND PERISH IN HURRICANE IRMA……makes me cry!

Disgusting!!!! Shelters were created for people and their pets. There is no acceptable reason to abandon your pet caged in the open environment, except for pure selfishness. Hope these heartless owners get caught in Irma’s storm surge and get swept out to the ocean where survival is unlikely. This is the position they placed on their pets.

They knew someone would come along and collect them.
The worst are the evil who abandoned pets in cages and hide them from any chance of rescue.

  12. Angela says:

Digusting, heartless trash of human beings should be prosecuted for such animal cruelty, but I fear only a slap on the wrist and fine will be their only punishment. Too many animal cruelty stories come from tragic times such as hurricanes. And these low life creeps probably got the idea from seeing what hurricane Harvey creeps did and got away with it. Thank God for the rescuers who help these poor innocent animals you are truly angels!
