It’s a rhetorical question asked over and over again in the rescue world – how does it come to be that a 15-year-old dog nearly blind and with medical needs winds up as a stray? And so it happened again, to an obviously neglected senior Yorkie, and now the frightened, lost and confused little dog shivers in the medical section of Carson Animal Care.

Click here for this tiny dog’s Pet Harbor listing. “I am described as a male, tan and unaltered Yorkshire Terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 15 years old. I have been at the shelter since Mar 13, 2017.”For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566. Ask for information about animal ID number A5040425.  A Facebook page to follow this dog’s plight can be found here. Please share his story with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. This dog certainly has been capturing the attention of animal advocates:

“…hard to fathom someone could drop this little guy off anywhere outdoors to fend for himself? Covered in fleas, scratching uncontrollably and this is how he gets to spend his senior years …”

For additional information contact the  Carson Shelter located at 216 Victoria Street, Gardena, California. Phone: 310.523.9566.

  1. How ducking sad is this. That poor baby deserves better than that. Please someone save him. There has to someone including rescues that will take him and give him the love he needs and deserves.

  2. This is a prime example of why my heart and soul aches everyday! I’m pretty sure that even before he was dumped like trash he had a not so good life! We could combat ALL of the problems that exist with dogs IF we had the laws enacted to protect them and IF good laws are enacted that they are enforced with the significant punishment that is so deserved! How about taking the MILLIONS of tax money spent on government run labs that torture, maime, and kill dogs and cats for the most inane experiments that have absolutely no value in the betterment of human life and using that money for spay and neuter sites that is affordable for EVERYONE??? OUTLAW PUPPY MILLS THAT ARE NOTHING MORE THAN LEGAL TORTURE CHAMBERS FOR DOGS, AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVER POPULATION OF DOGS! AMERICA KILLS MILLIONS OF HEALTHY,INNOCENT DOGS EVERY YEAR FOR THE CRIME OF BEING HOMELESS! EVERY DIRE SITUATION THAT DOGS FIND THEMSELVES IN ARE DIRECTLY LINKED TO HUMANS!! ITS WRONG,ITS DISGUSTING AND ITS IMMORAL!

    • How about getting rid of all the heartless animal hating judges in the judicial system who only give animal abuse perpetrators a warning or minimal fine and these low life pieces of trash go out and adopt another dog, abuse or neglect it and the cycle continues. Peer justice is
the only solution; neighbors should report neglect and abuse without fear…I adopted a dog in my neighborhood who was severely neglected; my rescue friends just took her out of the neighbor’s yard and brought her to me..the neighbor didn’t even care.

  3. Why are seniors left in the streets, because we have some very evil and irresponsible humans who also have no heart. But I hope that these people will be treated the sane way when they are old and unwanted by their families. Krama will visited them.sending prayers for a kind person to please save him and give him a good loving home.

  4. It’s a sad statement on how we treat our seniors in this world! This little man deserves to be loved and to be safe at this point in his life! If wishing could make it so!

Merci.

  6. Oh my gosh, if I could I would take him in, I live in Ohio, not able to make the trip to CA. So adorable, he just needs love in his last stage of life. Sending prayers

  7. How ANYONE could do this to ANY animal is outrageous! This poor senior dog was just dumped in the street like garbage – Surely the so called ‘humans’ who did this have the compassion and conscience of a bag of rocks and I do hope they get exactly what they deserve – a long slow painful death. PLEASE someone with a huge heart adopt this little guy – senior dogs make wonderful pets and he surely surely deserves the safe loving home he never had – you will never regret it.

  8. Please help the little puppy! !! He ned a foreverhome right now !!! Who can anyone do this! !! So heartless ❤❤❤ karma will come to them ????????????????
