Even the most stoic animal rescuers have been brought to tears at the sight of Tansy, a 14-year-old Shih Tzu brought into the Carson Animal Care Center on February 3rd. As of Tuesday, Tansy was available for foster care or adoption; no one has yet to help her. This tiny little senior is blind, neglected, confused and just shivering with fear.

Click here for this little dog’s Pet Harbor listing. No photo even appears on her adoption listing. “I am described as a spayed female, black and white Shih Tzu. The shelter thinks I am about 14 years old. I have been at the shelter since Feb 03, 2017.” For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566. Ask for information about animal ID number A5030489. A Facebook page for this dog can be found here.

Please share Tansy’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Advocates have pledged funds to help with this senior’s veterinary expenses. Sharing saves lives. It makes no difference whether she has weeks, months or years to live – every life counts and doesn’t this innocent little life deserve better?

“TANSY’S 14, blind, neglected and so lost and confused. She is shaking with fear and she needs help NOW.”

  1. I’m confused how could have Tansy been available for adoption Tuesday when she was brought in on February 3rd which was yesterday (Friday)? Story seems to be a little off. Hoping she will find a loving forever home.

  2. Heartbreaking. I live in Northern California, otherwise I would volunteer to foster this little treasure.

My husband and I specialize in caring for older, “special needs” animals who otherwise would be euthanized…..

      • Thank you very much for your kind words. My husband and I chose to help animals (over expensive trips, fancy clothes, new cars every year…..). NO regrets either!!!

We just “lost” a 9 year old chihuahua to a heart attack and a few months before had “lost” a 12 year old chihuahua with congestive heart failure…..

Right now we have a 14 year old quadriplegic kitty who gets physical therapy 3 times a week plus special care.

Seeing the trust in his eyes and the peaceful look on his face when I hold him makes it all worthwhile……

  3. I will take her forever right now if we can get her to Columbus Ohio where I live. I have all Shih Tzus and they are about her age and we’re a family

  4. Please help this innocent angel I can only imagine how frightened she is and her state reflects of complete negligence
    Heartbreaking:(((((

  5. I wish I could take her, I live in Northern CA. This poor baby deserves a home full of love and care. Please someone in that area take her! I have shared her, hope that helps.
