Good girl returned after free adoption event

A dog described as a “very good girl” was returned to the animal shelter after she was adopted during a free adoption event in Riverside County, California. The young dog, dubbed “Myah,” had been at the Riverside Animal Control in San Jacinto Valley for two months before she finally got to leave during the “Clear the Shelters” event.

And it wasn’t her fault that she was returned – apparently a dog at her new home didn’t like her and she had to go back to where she started. On August 27, her advocate wrote:

She waited 2 months, day after day to be adopted, do you know how special she is to have lived that long in this shelter? Finally, on Clear the Shelters day she was adopted at a give away price…only to have resident dog continually go after her, so she is back…confused, heartbroken and right where she started. SHE IS A VERY GOOD GIRL…

Myah needs a second chance – she didn’t ask to be here and she deserves to be in a loving home, where she can be a beloved companion, rather than a caged animal. Please help Myah find a new family by sharing her adoption information.

  1. Guess the people didn’t know to introduce the dog’s to each other gradually. Now Myah is paying the price. Sharing her Facebook page.

  2. If people are going to adopt a new dog, then when they go to an adoption event, it might be a good idea to bring the resident dog with you to see if they are going to get along. I don’t know how long they gave the two but sometimes it takes time. I am glad they just didn’t abandon poor Myah, I hope someone else with give this “very good girl” a chance.

  3. Not that it’s important but the old dog who didn’t like the new dog was a human.
But the important thing was she was brought back to the shelter and she is safe. So now she has a chance at better match.
Now picture it for a min.
Her walking out with her new lady love.
    Picture it !
The new new friends looking into each other’s eyes nodding once with out words
Smiling the wide happy smile and walking out that front door to the car. Oh joy!
    Picture it!!

      • what your saying is a house dog, a pet pretty low in the pecking order,
dictated to the master, the alpha, the home owner the human man of the house
how he feels about a new dog that the master, the alpha brought into the pact?
your mistaken. thats not how it works.
        no,
a fellow human who lives in the house with the alpha male didn’t want the dog.
        and “She” must be obeyed.
(the real alpha, Alpha she) thats how it works.

  4. The fact she survived that long in a shelter is amazing, There are so many of them waiting for homes but the sad truth is there aren’t enough homes that want pets! So Myha is back into the shelter so how long before her time runs out?

  5. I hate these ‘free’ giveaways at shelters – God only knows who gets these poor animals and what happens to them – there is no way any shelter can confirm the animals are going to good homes – Myah was taken by some humans who had no clue that animals need time to adjust to each other so she was dumped back in a shelter. These ‘clear the shelters’ is nothing more than some ahole idea to get rid of animals with little to no concern as to where they are going.
