In a heartless act of animal cruelty, a neighborhood cat was discovered on Sunday  afternoon with a razor-sharp arrow piercing her upper body. A homeowner from the San Antonio, Texas area near Valley Hi Drive heard a loud noise in her front yard, and when she went out to investigate found the critically wounded cat.  According to the press release from the City of San Antonio, the orange tabby identified as Maggie was rushed to an emergency veterinarian office for treatment, but had to be euthanized due to the extent of her injuries.

Animal Care Services spokesperson, Lisa Norwood, Maggie had been microchipped and had been seen by witnesses wandering in the neighborhood. The cat had recently been rehomed after her original family moved out of the area.

Authorities have received several leads as to the person(s) who committed this disturbing crime to a friendly and trusting cat. Anyone with information is asked to contact Animal Services at 210.207.7234.

  1. This is exactly WHY my cats are indoor-only. We have a neighbor who has been shooting at local feral cats – also trapping some and dumping them somewhere (he may have actually dumped someone’s pet recently, but the local police won’t do anything since there’s not enough proof). I’d like to take a few shots at the monster(s) responsible for this cat’s horrific death.

    • I always kept mine inside too, it’s much easier to clean a litter box once in awhile than to have to worry about something like this happening. And it seems to be happening more often. You never know when you will run into a neighbor like your’s.

  2. Would love to catch the douche bag that did it and shove every arrow the POS has on them …. UP THEIR ASS… SIDEWAYS!!!!

  3. I hope the monsters who did this are found and receive something other than a slap on their hand. The courts HAVE GOT TO START DEALING out some harsh punishment for cruelty!! It will never stop when the abusers are just given a week or two in jail. Whoopee.

  4. Brings back memories of the POS Veterinarian that thought it was cute to shoot a cat with an arrow. Is she on the loose again? This is disgusting, I hope they find who did this even though, like the Veterinarian they probably will NOT be punished! Way to go Texas! Rest in peace little Maggie, I’m sorry humans were so cruel to you!

  5. AAH! ALASS! OUR TEXAS “NO STAR STATE” MORONIC ANIMAL TORTUROUS ANIMAL MURDER”S AT WORK AGAIN!!!! HOPEFULLY ANOTHER “HOTLINE” WILL HAVE TO BE INSTALLED AT THE GOVERNOR”AS HOUSE TO HANDLE the CALLS TO DO SOMETHING but KEEP HIS HEAD IN THE DARK CREVICE of HIS BODY !!!!! THERE NEEDS to be some sort of ” Special Investigative Unit Established” to curtail this horrific torture…. THEY NEED TO STOP THIS SHIT!!!!! That little animals DID NOT DESERVE THIS TREATMENT!!!!

  6. If you love your cat, don’t let him/her out of the house. Spay and neuter so that biology is not driving them to go out and find a mate, and never let them get out. It is totally wrong to shoot a animal with an arrow, whoever did that is an ass, no doubt.

  7. Those that torture and kill animals for ‘fun’ need a five minute visit with some of us animal lovers – I would so thoroughly enjoy giving any and all of them a dose of their own medicine – I may get arrested but it would be so worth it to see these bastards screaming in pain.

  8. how many human defects in that neighborhood that would have an arrow and would stoop so low to abuse and hurt and or kill an animal.should not be too hard to find the human defect that did this and teach him/her a good hard lesson!
