In a county rural shelter in Middle, Georgia are the “forgotten ones.” Two terrified Chihuahuas hold on to each other in a kennel cage. Shelter volunteers describe the two little dogs as so frightened that the animal control officer has been unable to get close enough to determine their sex. And in this shelter, no public adoptions are permitted.Terrified Chis

The name of the shelter has not been provided, however contact information can be found on the group’s Facebook page who have been advocating for the rescue of these two dogs. Only an approved rescue organization (with a 501C3 status) will be eligible to take custody of the dogs. In the past, there have been several rural shelters who have refused to publicly work with advocates. Please share the plight of these two tiny undernourished dogs with friends, family and social media contacts. Funds are being pledged to help an approved rescue organization with the expenses.  Additional information can be followed here.

“Rescue Only Facility, no public adoptions. You have to work with a rescue. This is a holding facility only. These dogs hardly ever make it out. We need rescues to bring attention to this place,” has been noted.

If interested in helping, please email  [email protected] who states she (Charli) can facilitate the rescue of these two dogs.

  1. WELL !! WE START this MONDAY WITH THIS HORRIFIC POST IN GEORGIA NO LESS !!!! SOMEHOW THERE has to BE A RESCUE LIKE DOGS ROCK NY or ONE OR TWO in GEORGIA TO HELP these TERRIFIED little CHIHUAHUA”S out of that HELL HOLE THEY ARE IN!!!

  2. Its is so sad that we have shelters in the US that only allow Rescue groups to get these precious little ones out. When is it ever going to change. Poor little ones, I pray that some will step up to the plate and help these babies out of that hell hole.

  3. Go save those innocent babies. They DO NOT deserve to be treated this way. You have to go save those babies and shut down that Shelter.

  4. So why are they even called a shelter? Seems they don’t give these animals a good chance at a forever home. It’s insane that local adoptions are not allowed.

  5. How can this place be called a shelter? They do not allow dogs to be adopted by the general public and as a result most are probably euthanized. That is NOT a shelter to me….that is called death row. Places like this should be forced to amend their ways or be shut down.

  6. I’m not a breeder, will take them both, am here in middle Georgia, and will gladly love them forever. Please contact me!

    • I am not well versed in the rescue of your area, BUT I think YOU ARE THE ONE THAT has to MAKE the EFFORT to WORK this OUT…I sure hope you can save them I wouldn’t want them to be in a breeding situtation. YOU could call the city hall where they are located in YOUR STATE PRESENT YOUR CREDENTIALS and ASK YHEM FOR HELP IN FINDING OUT HOW TO DO THIS .. IF a RESCUE NEEDS TO PULL THEM CALL YOUR LOCAL RESCUE AND SEE IF THE CAN HELP…. I HOPE YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH THIS < AND BLESS YOU FOR BEING WILLING TO GO THE EXTRA MILE!!! Please let us know how it goes…. my heart goes out just looking at that picture..

    • YOU KNOW I don’t think these Southern “DIP” really Want to make and EFFORT to RESCUE the LITTLE HELPLESS ANIMALS THEY TAKE IN THEIR FACILITIES … THE PAPER WORK ETC>IS JUST TOO DAMN TOUGH FOR THESE SOUTHERN GENTLEMEN AND “BELLES ” to BOTHER WITH!!! IT IS FAR EASIER TO GAS<HEART STICK>> I Can’t believe the South is like THIS>>> My Grandfather was from GREENUP KY. My Aunt from ELKINS WVA> My Step Dad from Clarksburg W VA… Hell maybe that is WHY THEY ALL GOT OUT of THAT REGION ASAP and came WEST!!! YOU would think the NONADOPTION WOULD BE ELATED TO FIND HOMES FOR THIS LITTLE FAMILY!!! Call the Mayor of the Town, the Chief of Police, The Local Newspaper, maybe then YOU CAN GET SOME ASSIST!!!

      • It’s just disheartening when they are marked for death and no one will answer a simple email. The could have already been out and in boarding 🙁

      • OMG THANK you so MUCH FOR SENDING this POST out this AM … I had planned on CONTACTING the MAYOR”S office of that town ( if at all possible ) this AM… that PHOTO has haunted me for days….
