Forgotten: When new puppy arrived, Bella was tossed in the shelter

Bella is one of the forgotten; she is just a big silly pup who wants nothing more than to be cherished by someone. More than a year ago, she was picked up by Animal Control in New York, and her family was called. Upon their arrival, Bella’s tail wagged enthusiastically; she couldn’t wait to go home, but her happiness was short-lived; her owner signed her over to the animal shelter. It seems her family welcomed a new puppy into their home, and Bella wasn’t a fan of other pets, so she was immediately separated and then tossed away into a shelter.

At two-years-old, Bella has been homeless for more than a year. Perhaps telling her story here and sharing her tragic and lonely plight with everyone will help her find her dream home; all she wants is to be someone’s loyal and loving best friend. Although you might not be able to adopt Bella, why not pass her story over to friends, family or social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Do it for Bella.

“She is playful and energetic and enjoys a good game of fetch
She is estimated to be about 2 years young, 70 pounds, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped and heartworm negative.

While this girl loves people. She would do best as the one and only and no young children

  1. Such a happy girl! I’m sure there is somebody out there that can give this girl a furever home! Her previous owners should not allowed to have another dog either! Shame on them!

  2. So how long did these people give Bella to get used to the new puppy? And, if she didn’t get along with the puppy, then it should have been the puppy to go, not Bella, she was there first! How I hate people sometimes, there is no excuse for this!

    • I agree with you 100% – some people think, or rather don’t think and this family is a prime example – it takes time for animals to adjust to a new arrival – I despise people with this ignorant mindset – Bella deserves a safe loving home and I hope she gets one ASAP – some people should never have animals.

    • I think the owners left Bella somewhere to fend for herself. How else did they know that she didn’t get along with the new pup? I’ve been following her and I cannot believe she hasn’t been adopted. Shared again on FB. Due to lap top acting up I may have commented twice.

  3. Bella is such a fun girl. If I didn’t already have 2 dogs, I would take her. I hope someone would open his/her heart and adopt Bella. She deserves a good home.

  4. Golly I sort of had the opinion that Texas and California ::: were the TWO of the “Throw Away States” just kidding I think all 50 of our troubled USA States have numerous people who should be banished to another country OR Better yet .. Another PLANET !! such a lovely Girl…

  5. what a lie. Bella actually showed motherly instinct at the puppy.
they planned to dump Bella when they decided to get a new puppy.
    lies.
