First used to breed: Then tortured as bait dog just to be thrown away

A seven-year-old American bulldog has never been treated with love or respect. First used to breed puppies to sell for a profit and when she no longer could produce litter after litter, she was forced into another victimizing role; Jessy became a bait dog. The scars on her face, her body and her legs bear the reminders of the misery she endured.Jessy cover

And then she was thrown away; no identification tags, no microchip and no one ever came looking for her. Brought to the Miami-Dade Animal Services Pet Adoption and Protection Center on February 1, Jessy is in need of a home or a foster family. A shelter volunteer offers the following observation:

“She is so gentle and wants to be loved so badly. She comes and sits with you hoping that you will scratch her all over. After being so abused, you would think she hates people, but she wants the attention of her very own human. She shouldn’t be so abused at her age.”

Sadly, Jessy is giving up on life. In her shelter cage, she barely lifts her head when anyone passes by. A Facebook page following her plight can be found here or here. Animal advocates have been pledging funds to help with veterinarian and other expenses to an approved rescue organization. all too often this is how they end up! She is used and abused then tossed away like garbage! It breaks my heart because there are so many Jessys who are never found! I would love to give her a forever home! I would love to give all of them a forever home! Jessy needs to be loved she needs to feel a part of a family! Pits are such loving dogs and they don’t do well in shelter situations after a certain age! It’s like they give up! Please don’t give up on her!

This is terribly sad the way some “human” monsters victimize those that can’t speak up. One day they will get justice. I only wish our courts would do it NOW here on earth!

She is so beautiful and gentle and loving what more do you want. She will love you till death do you apart that I am sure. No human can ever do that for you. Give her the opportunity to love and be love. Give both of you a chance to fine that connection that bond. Do not let her be another number in the euthanize list. Let her be loved at least once in her lifetime.

This poor dog deserves a good, loving, kind, stable home. No dog should have to endure such pain and suffering this dog has. Find it in your heart to adopt this dog!

Someone please give Jessie her very own forever home and someone to love her, hold her, pet her, feed her and give her what she deserves, but has never had. Don’t let them kill her after all she has been through. Someone please save her. I live too far away and have many dogs already or I would love to give her a loving home.

If any dog deserves a safe loving home its Jessy – her abuse and abandonment is so typical of dogfighters yet she is the one paying the price. It infuriates me that these maggots do this over and over and nothing is done to them when and if they are caught. ALL dogfighters should be treated exactly like they treated these poor dogs – abused and dumped – hogtied and left in the nearest landfill. They so well deserve the worst punishment. Authorities do have options yet it seems they give little to no prison time – this MUST change. Animal abuse is no different from child abuse, it is abuse of those who are defenseless, innocent and have no voice.

I contacted the shelter about adopting her and they said she already had an out of town commitment, whatever that means
