A Texas family’s puppy was nearly blinded by cruel intruders who doused her face with bleach. According to News 10, the pit bull puppy was injured on May 3 when intruders broke into a home in Mesquite and threw bleach, and other household chemicals, into her face while she was locked up in her crate.
The pup, named “Laila,” was nearly blinded as a result. In addition to the act of animal cruelty, the intruders ransacked the family’s home and stole multiple items.
Since the time of the break-in, arrests have been made. Zavier Humphrey and Jacob Hernandez, both 18-years of age, are facing burglary charges – Humphrey is charged with animal cruelty as well. Two other individuals are currently being sought by the local authorities.
Laila’s family is raising funds to help with the veterinary bills created by this cruel incident. Click here to find the GoFundMe account.
