Sisters dumped again after being adopted
Spread the love

Two bonded sisters were left in an unfamiliar and frightening situation after their family decided to move and leave them behind. The dogs, Negra and Moneca, were surrendered to the Harris County Animal Shelter in March – their time was limited there and just before the unthinkable happened, someone adopted them.

But there is no happily-ever-after for these sisters. The person who adopted them has sent them right back to the same animal shelter. On Wednesday morning, the volunteer-run Facebook page for the shelter wrote:

7/19- URGENT!! DUMPED AT THE SHELTER AGAIN These girls are back at the shelter. They were returned on July 10th!!! The adopter spoke with us a few months ago, at which time we offered to assist with rehoming the girls…. she refused stating she would never take them back to the shelter….

The volunteers added:

WELL LOOK WHERE THEY ARE!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! We could not be more upset. Their names have been changed to Journey and Ginger and both are Ready To Go!! You could adopt and leave with them same day!! Please help us network and share their post and save these girls one more time!!

The dogs were scared and confused the first time around – it is impossible to imagine their emotional state after being dumped a second time.

    • They eventually were left outside 24/7 and were escape artists – probably bored and needed human interaction. Owners were offered help within days of adopting and refused. No patience that’s needed with dogs coming from a shelter environment.

      • This is terrible, why take these two precious souls if you had no intention of treating them like family. You don’t stick dogs outside 24/7 and expect not to have problems. One of my boys was left outside like this and kept escaping until he ended up at the shelter with an embedded collar and the shelter refused to give him back to the abusers, since then he has lived with us with our other 3 dogs in the house, has never tried to run away and knows he is loved. If they know they are loved, it doesn’t take much patience at all, Now these poor dogs have been abandoned twice, I hope they find a loving family.

  1. They should have found a trainer to help and the issues would have been resolved quickly. Animals need training, they don’t come into your home without some issues that need to be addressed. My dog lived in an apartment so she is wee-wee pad trained as well as sometimes outside. We are still working on her doing her stuff outside, but we would never give her up because we vowed we would be there for her forever.

  2. Why adopt a dog from the shelter if you’re not willing to put in the time to train the dog. A trainer can help, but you still have to do the work. I adopted a 3 1/2 year old rescued cane corso that wasn’t house trained. He had two previous owners who returned him to the same shelter where they adopted him from. You would think at least one of the previous owners took the time to train him, obviously not! He was scheduled to be euthanized until a rescue org. stepped in and saved him. The day after he was saved, I adopted him, that was 10 years ago and he’s still with me. He’s a fantastic dog! Being that said, if training a dog is too much trouble or not sure if you’re committed to giving the dog a forever home, don’t adopt, instead get a pet rock.

  3. The boundless cruelty this jerk has shown to these precious souls in despicable! I wish we could keep track of the ass wipes that abandon their pets so they can never adopt another animal again! Is there any updates on these unfortunate victims of humanity?

  4. So sad! !! Its so terrible !! HELP THIS 2 DOGS THEY DESERVES Ä CAREFUL AND WONDERFUL FOREVERHOME !!!! PRAY FOR YOU !!! HUGS FROM SWEDEN ????????????????????????????????????????????

  5. I would love to have them. I lost my 15 yr old baby. I have a fenced in yard but they would be inside most of the time. I live in Illinois. Is there any way we can get help with transportation ?

    • Yes!!!!! There are many transport options!!! Tracy Walker Dies lives in Texas and has a transport business and travels all over the States!!! Please contact her! Her number is: 318-572-4706.

      • Please Linda Ginn, these dogs need you – transportation is available and you would be a hero to these dogs who have been dumped twice.

    • Are you going to adopt these babies? I want to but have 4 street cats I rescued and not sure if they’d mix. Please let me know if you intend to adopt them and if I can be of any help. I really would love to take them but if you can that would be wonderful.

  6. Karma to the Family that Returned these Beautiful Bonded Dogs. I Pray that someone Adopts these 2 Dogs Together. If these Family Knows that Dogs are Family no matter what.

  7. Shelter has CONFIRMED RESCUE HOLDS ON BOTH DOGS. I hope they will stay together. But if splitting them saves their lives we have to be happy they will live.
