Beloved dog shot and killed at party

On Friday night, a devastating situation took place during a Missouri City, Texas, family’s backyard party. According to KHOU 11 News, officers with the Missouri City Police Department were called to the Pedregon family’s home to investigate a noise complaint.

People were in the backyard, and so was Chapo, a two-and-a-half-year-old pit bull. According to Chapo’s owner, Lizzethe Pedregon, everyone was having a good time, including the dog, when things turned deadly.

Police claim that they called for someone to restrain the dog – attendees at the party have stated that they heard nothing, until a gunshot was fired. Chapo was killed – the officer who fired the fatal shot claims that he feared for his safety.

Pedregon told KHOU that Chapo hadn’t barked or growled before he was shot – and noted that he was a sweet dog, “He was very kind, very gentle, he loved the kids, he was a sweet dog, he wasn’t mean, he wasn’t aggressive, he was just a sweet dog.” She added, “It’s been hard, it’s been hard because Chapo he wasn’t our dog, he was our family.”

In a Facebook post, Pedregon wrote:

Why didn’t they knock first? We would of went inside if we were being loud, we would of shut it down. There were kids around and you just come in shooting? I’m so hurt, my heart hurts. Chapo was not just our dog, he was family!

The family is devastated over the unexpected and tragic loss of their beloved pet – according to the authorities, the situation is being investigated.

  1. What a creep ???? this ugly asshole officer killed their dog for no reason I pray he goes to hell & is shot by robberys or anyone & he dies what a asshole die u creep ???? bg

  2. Unfortunately the people at this party probably were so loud, they couldn’t hear the officer, which is clearly NOT a reason to shoot their dog. You are a police officer and fear for your safety from a dog that is not coming towards you nor barking in an aggressive manner. Get another job sitting in an office then. Sorry Chapo that those that are suppose to protect your family, took your life for no reason.

  3. Oh yes the “feared for his safety” BS. I have no doubt that the police never knocked on the gate, never called for someone to get the dog, they shot first and used their patented excuse “feared for his safety”, and a family pet is dead because of it. Note to everyone: next time you have a party and make too much noise, make sure your dog is in the house NOT enjoying the festivities, If your neighbor complains and calls them, the police will murder him/her.

    • I’m so sick of the “feared for his safety” crock of shit that we hear every day from these lily livered POS cops. RIP Chapo. My heart is hurting for your family.

      • You and me both, Darla, this is nothing more than a damned lie invented by some cop who was pissed because no one heard him and took it out on the most innocent one – another example of an incompetent idiot with a gun.

  4. Something is very wrong with this situation…… a police officer showed up for (my assumption) a noise complaint and shoots a family pet for being in his own yard, with his own family???

What if this POS had missed and shot a child (or another person)…… what excuse would we get besides “oops, my bad”???

Why didn’t the officer knock on the front door first? Why was shooting an animal the first action??? Why didn’t the officer value the lives of the people in the yard who could just as easily have been shot instead of the dog???

IMHO, there are some very interesting and tough questions that need to be addressed by the police (if I were the family, I would hire an attorney and sue those POS cops)…..

RIP Chapo, your murderer will burn in Hell forever for his cruelty…… let’s hope he gets killed sooner than later (& in any case, gets fired from the police force because an idiot who fires a gun into a crowded party is NOT a good police officer)…….

    • Entièrement d’accord avec vous. Encore un assassin dans la police. Va en enfer parasite.
      Bon voyage belle âme innocente.

  5. Let me guess. The cops were right in the killing They will do nothing to stop the murder of our family members. Really sick of them using the excuse of “fear for my life” BS. Hold them accountable unless you see the dog with the officer in their mouths !!!!!

  6. Sick and tired of the old chestnut “I feared for my life”. Most of the time the dog isn’t a threat and even has his or her family right there with them, and many times there are witnesses and even a video PROVING the cop is a coward, a liar, and a total POS. Anyone who’d do what this scumbag did – go to a party full of kids and shoot the family dog for a NOISE COMPLAINT – has no business in this world being a cop! If they can’t hire more INTELLIGENT officers (you know they only go for the lower end of the spectrum these days, right?), they certainly need to be more THOROUGH in their psychological evaluations. Actually, it’s inexcusable that they won’t do both.

  7. piece of shit cops need to be brought up on felony animal abuse charges, private property requires warrant to enter, also someone needs to pay the neighbor who complained a visit with some good ole street justice

  8. RIP Chapo, Rot in hell cop who did this, and they wonder why no-one repects cops anymore, just a bunch of punk ass faggots

  9. Why would this WILD Wild West FOOL go in with guns blazing? What an overreaction. My god, seems like just another excuse for an abuser to kill a pit bull. Well, isn’t he a BIGSHOT? jackass.
