Two off-leash dogs shot and killed

Epic fail – dogs being walked off leash shot and killed

A dog owner, said to be a dog breeder, epically failed his pets when he allowed them to walk in public, off leash, and frighten bystanders. According to the Daily Mail, two of the five dogs were shot and killed by responding police officers on Sunday.

The dogs belonged to 39-year-old Daniel Hennessy of Bolton,  Greater Manchester – the man is facing charges for allowing dogs to be dangerously out of control and one count of affray, reported the Metro U.K. Though Hennessy is said to be “heartbroken” over the death of his dogs, the blame seems to rest solely on his shoulders.

A video taken before the dogs were shot and killed shows Hennessy not only allowing the dogs to rush bystanders, but also, of the man confronting individuals who expressed fear about the dogs being off leash. In the video, the man appears to be angry that he is being told to leash his dogs – he shows no remorse for allowing his dogs to rush at a group of people who are standing outside of a business.

Hennessy apparently breeds the dogs who were with him on Sunday – selling the puppies online for upwards of  £800.

Just watched this videos and I truly love dogs, but his dogs should have been leashed due to their size and strength. Also when they gathered around the woman and she was walking off the tan nipped at her back side. Also when he got upset about leashing his dogs he got upset and the dogs started to bark which could a bit intimidating to some. The best rule of thumb is when you are in an area please keep your dogs on a leash so something doesn’t happen to anyone and I include the dogs.

I cannot believe he didn’t put the dogs on a leash. He should have known better. Poor dogs, they are the ones who got the worst end of the deal.

One of the dogs lunged at the woman and snapped at her. If it didn’t bite her, it certainly came close to it. This was totally irresponsible on this man’s part. Leave the dogs at home or leash them. He is responsible for their deaths.

First of all the owner is a POS! He should have had the dogs on leashes….just because if something did go wrong, he would not be able to contain 5 DOGS!!! Secondly….why were the dogs killed? Did they do anything other than be a pit bull and LOOK scary? I do not get why police have to shoot pets when they are not attacking or hurting someone. But this murder of two animals, rests solely on the shoulders of this sorry excuse of a human/owner.

He was responsible for their deaths. The answer to your question “why were the dogs killed”? You have to watch the video.

Agreed but of course the human being is # 1. So the dogs are killed. He will be doing this again. Humans deserve eye for an eye justice. Dogs shot and killed so should the human who caused all this.

This is so sad to me cause in all of the pictures, not one dog looked vicious, nor did I see anyone bit…..so for this mans stupidity, 2 beautiful babies had to die…I also think the police may have reacted too harshly.

This is horrible, these dogs died because of a POS owner who thought he was above the law! These dogs were charging people and should have been leashed at the very least. Why this POS owner thought he could let his dog go after people like this I will never know, but I feel so sorry for the dogs paying the price because they had an idiot for an owner.

Definitely the owner’s fault. Those 5 dogs should have all been under proper control on leashes. As for the 2 who were shot and killed, it’s a shame that such things happen, but the police have to take public safety into account first, and then the dogs.

It’s very sad idiots are allowed to have dogs. It cost 3 their lives. Such a shame this pack was not controlled when in a public place.

It is heartbreaking that his arragance caused the death of the dogs.Watching the video though I cannot agree with killing 2 dogs.Unless the situation drastically changed I think it could have been handled way differently.Did the police just show up and shoot them?Did they instruct him upon arrival to leash them?
