Enjoying her freedom: Dog dragged by rope into Texas high kill shelter by heartless owners

At the Harris County Animal Shelter, the heartless family of a frightened Labrador/shepherd mix tied a rope around her neck and legs and dragged her into the shelter. The “family,” still in their slippers, yelled at their terrified dog named Maya – angry  and impatient that she wasn’t walking into the high kill shelter willingly. With her tail tucked tightly between her legs, her eyes wide with fright – Maya’s owners continued to drag her into the shelter. Not a tear was shed; the family’s little boy; not only a witness to the heartless act, but also a young participant pushing Maya as she tried to hold her ground and resist – all caught on a disturbing video that went viral.

Just one day later, Maya was freed from the shelter by Rescue Dogs Rock NYC:

“We were so disgusted at Maya’s family, who didn’t even look back and even care that Maya was losing everything. They actually pushed her into the shelter as she resisted. At least have some type of compassion about surrendering your dog,” posted Stacey Silverstein, co-founder of the rescue organization.

Advocates were irate as they watched the video clearly demonstrating how bothered and annoyed Maya’s owners were having to take the time to dump their dog at a shelter. And even more heartbreaking was watching the frightened dog and feeling her rejection.

Early Sunday morning, Maya’s additional freedom photos now show her enjoying the outdoors and breathing in the fresh air  as she is accompanied by a compassionate vet tech. Maya is now being prepared to be spayed, vaccinated and tested for parasites. She is heartworm positive and will be treated.

“The best thing that can happen to Maya now is to have a home waiting for her when she is ready to make the journey from Texas to New York,” added Stacey. “We are accepting applications for Maya. She is two-years-old, a shepherd mix and kid and dog friendly. Maya is sweet, loving and affectionate despite her cruel past.”

Maya’s luckiest day so far was when those ignorant, hardened people dumped her. I hope those people don’t get another dog. But they’re so stupid and uncaring, I’m sure they will respond to some impulse someday and adopt another one. That dog is the one I feel sorry for. Maya is on her way to happiness because her former idiot owners did one thing right in their miserable lives: They dumped Maya.

Those Bastard’s probably ALREADY found a NEW DOG and that’s WHY they DUMPED Maya!!! It’s a Shame a video of the license number and their faces can’t be sent to emigration… I bet this ” Hispanic Slipper Group of Morons” are illegal…. I would love to see them CAUGHT and DEPORTED ONLY for the horrific manner in which they treated Maya!!! Hell come to think of if maybe they were making tracks because they were being sought by authorities…. thus the slippers!!!

She is a beautiful dog, and her former owners belong in a cesspool. I don’t believe in “karma” as so many people mention, but I DO believe in the wrath of God Almighty, and I trust He will deal with those who hurt her.

Try and humble your self. And learn from the God pros. Ask your questions, debate your debate.
Ask each authentic religious scholar to help you understand God.
        Remeber,
