A drunken man, who was described as “angry” about not being able to have what he wanted for lunch, allegedly took his anger out on an innocent puppy. According to Monday’s New Zealand Herald, the 53-year-old man flew into a violent rage and attacked a five-month-old puppy with a hammer.
The wounded puppy’s screams could be heard blocks away – it was the man’s own teenage son who reached out to the authorities for help. The puppy sustained horrific injuries on Sunday – in fact, the pup’s broken teeth and fractured skull resulted in the veterinarian deciding that humane euthanasia was the best option.
The man accused of inflicting the terrible injuries has been arrested for animal cruelty – the man’s identity was not publicly released.
