In the area of Udaipur, Rajasthan, India, volunteers from Animal Aid Unlimited are always busy bringing relief to suffering animals. A drowning dog’s plight was no different, and her rescue was nothing short of a miracle as a frightened and very tired dog knew her time was soon running out. Either she had fallen or been dropped into a 70 foot deep well; there was no place for her to climb nor was there any place for her to rest. Either she kept paddling or she would surely drown.

When Animal Aid Unlimited volunteers arrived, it appeared the Lab had been struggling to stay afloat for hours. She repeatedly grabbed the rocks on the side of the well with her bleeding claws; one piece of jagged rock held out her only hope of resting. She had nearly lost her strength, when Ganpat rigged himself up with a harness, rope and quickly navigated down the treacherous side of the rocky well.

And when she saw Ganpat, the dog knew her prayers had been answered. Quickly she swam towards him, moved willingly into the net brought to safely lift her to safety and so another life was saved. Watch her amazing rescue as we remind ourselves of the goodness and compassion of so many people we want to thank for their kindness towards all that cannot speak.

  4. Thank you Animal Aid – your dedication and caring for animals is awesome- if not for your actions this poor dog would have drowned. You saved another life!

  5. The look in the dog’s eyes – begging for help – brought me to tears. Watching her try to hold onto the rocks, it’s apparent she wouldn’t have lasted much longer. Thank you, Animal Aid.
