Police are investigating the horrible mutilation of a family’s dog using hedge clippers in Anderson, Indiana. Charlie, a 12-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever, had been safely sleeping in his own backyard on Columbus Avenue when he was stolen on Tuesday.

According to WthrNews, the boards of the gate had been torn off and whoever took the dog forced him through the opening. Charlie’s owner, Chase Gale , whoever took their dog and subsequently tortured him, later forced the dog back into his yard.  What the family saw was incomprehensible. As Chase opened the door, there was Charlie lying in a pool of blood; three of his feet had been hacked off with a pair of hedge clippers.

“They cut his paws off and brought him back. I’m just glad I didn’t get hold of them. He was a good dog,” stated the family’s neighbor, David Tierney.

Charlie’s torture hasn’t been the only horrible case of animal abuse in the area, and Chase thinks this is part of a bigger problem. Two other dogs have been reported to have been mutilated in the same area. One dog’s body was found along the railroad tracks – his front legs and head had been severed.

Local residents are urged to keep a close eye on their pets. Some sicko is out there – who else could do something like this?

Sadly, Charlie’s injuries were so severe, the family had no choice but to humanely euthanize him. Rest in peace sweet dog.

Deformed dog or not? Strange photo is driving people crazy! I’ll admit, this one took me awhile to figure out.

  1. Keep an eye out people and be aware of everything that goes on around you! If you see something, anything, SAY SOMETHING! This sicko must be caught! RIP Charlie 🙁

  2. Do the exact same thing to this monster and then execute him! This should be a priority because this is a serial killer and the police need to get on this ASAP!

  3. This disgusting POS must be found ASAP, before he graduates to humans!!!!!! He deserves to be locked up for life (lose those keys)….. or executed…… I hope he suffers for the rest of his miserable life…..

This disgusting POS deserves his reserved place in Hell where he will burn forever for his cruelty (here’s hoping he gets there ASAP after a painful, terrifying death)!!!

Makes me sick inside to think of this precious furbaby suffering and crying for help in vain…… My condolences to the family. No one should have to find their furbaby like this……

RIP poor furbaby, you didn’t deserve what happened to you. Please look for MacKitty in Heaven and he will introduce you to his wonderful snuggle buddies……

  4. First of all, the ONLY person responsible for this is the bastard who tortured Charlie. That person is obviously also torturing and killing other pets in the neighborhood, some of probably haven’t even been reported.

HOWEVER, knowing that, and in any case, WHY was Charlie left alone in the backyard in the first place? Why in the world does ANYONE in this day and age leave their precious pets alone in their yards with so many sick and twisted people out there?
We are warned time and time again, more so than ever before, of how many vile, evil pieces of human excrement there are out there ready to take out pets for any number of reasons!

When I moved to this city there was a major problem with thieves stealing them to take them to labs in Pennsylvania: my guess would be that it still continues.

Then there are the more obvious problems, like this one, where some twisted bastard decides to take your pet and torture and kill him or her. Odds are the killer is a neighbor, someone in that neighborhood. Someone knows or strongly suspects who it is. They need to speak up and help put this monster away.

    • Because a lab needs a backyard! That’s like saying you shouldn’t go for a walk in you own yard! But if I lived in that area I’d sure be scared to death for my dog!

      • Yes. A lab needs a backyard but do not leave him/her unattended especially if this is not the first time the neighborhood has experience such satanic incident . Be more viiligant w/your pets.

    • Your absolutely right on! People need to be AWARE OF THE DANGERS now days period. WAKEUP CALL Your furbabies should and MUST be SUPPERVISED. Keep them indoors and watch them while outside. It’s NOT SAFE to leave your family members outside anymore.

  5. Take a machete, chop off the disgusting turd’s hands and feet and let the scumbag bleed to death. Poor Charlie needs street justice, not a judicial system that view animals as just property with no rights of their own. The abuser’s punishment never commensurate with the brutality inflicted on the animal. Sickos that torture and kill animals will eventually do the same to humans.

    RIP Charlie, run and play

  6. I find it surprising the dog didn’t bark at the intruder stealing him. My dogs would carry on if someone came into our yard. I agree it is no longer safe to leave your dog in even a fenced yard without supervision, there are too many POS’s out there that want to hurt them, and knowing dogs were being hurt in the area, I have to wonder why he was left alone also. The sicko that did this will keep doing it until they are caught, and I hope and pray they are caught soon before any other dog loses his/her life!

    • I agree with you. My one dog [sounds like 10] barks his head off at ANYONE entering the yard or house, even my husband!!! Either the POS was well known to Charlie OR Charlie [@ 12 years old might have had a hearing loss] was sleeping very soundly…..

In any case, the POS who did this horrible act must be known to someone in the community. I am thinking of socially deficient males aged 10-32 as highly likely suspects….. but I admit I am NOT a profiling expert…..

If I lived in that area, I would be VERY worried, not just for pets, but for ANYONE who is “defenceless”: small children or seniors or disabled……. sad thing is serial killers get their “practice” on defenceless animals before graduating to humans…… This POS MUST BE FOUND ASAP and locked away for the safety of the community……

  7. EVIL MONTERS THAT SHOULD NOT BE BREATHING AIR! IF THESE COWARD MONSTERS ARE FOUND, PLEASE SOMEONE CUT HIS FEET OFF BEFORE SENDING HIM BACK TO HELL WHERE HE BELONGS! MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL EACH TIME I HEAR ANOTHER COWARD MONSTER THAT PREYS ON THE VOICELESS AND DEFENSELESS!

  8. TAKE HIM TO THE WOODS PLEASE, AND DO THE WORLD A FAVOR AND TAKE THIS MONSTER OUT OF THIS WORLD SO HE CAN JOIN THE REST OF THE COWARD MONSTERS TO FOREVER BURN IN HELL!

  9. Catch the evil POS who is doing it .. and hack off parts of their worthless body. I do NOT GIVE A FUCK WHO it is or how old they are.

  10. And this is an excellent case for vigilante justice – I am sick and tired of seeing these horrific cases of animal abuse and either the lousy justice system ignores it or gives such piss poor punishment which only encourages these human hunks of puke to continue their cruelty. Animals deserve the same justice as children – it is abuse of those who are innocent, defenseless and have no voice and this case is a prime example of giving this bastard abuser exactly what they deserve – a long, painful death.

  11. We just cant leave our pets in the back yard, sometimes even if we are home and access is easy for someone to get the dog. My sisters dog was taken out of her yard in TX. Few days later she was returned but had to be put down.

    • Sorry to learn about your sister’s dog…….

We have coyotes and racoons in our neighborhood who will snatch pets. In addition, in our area, we have large birds of prey (eagles and hawks) who migrate 2/year. Dogs and cats are not accustomed to “surveying the skies” and are often “snatched as a “free meal””…… to a large bird of prey, a dog or cat is “x pounds of easy food”, not a “treasured family member”……. Awful to think about, but it happens so frequently in our area…..

Pet parents MUST protect furbabies from aerial predators, land predators AND, most dangerous: human predators……. Scary world we live in…….
