On Friday, June 3rd, 2017 a traveling motorist witnessed two African-American males throw a small dog out of their car on the East/West expressway in Orlando, Florida. The witness was very shaken by what she had seen and contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, who in turn contacted Orange County Animal Control. Unfortunately, she was unable to get the tag number of the vehicle.

According to Animal Control, an officer responded but could not find the dog. Yet, over the course of several days more calls went into the Sheriff’s Office advising of a small black and tan dog roaming around the expressway. A deputy sheriff also went in search of the dog, but once again the pooch evaded rescue.

On Monday, June 5th, 2017, two Good Samaritans, Cathy Wagner and Jennifer Carr decided to look for the dog. Both ladies are staunch animal advocates and active in the animal rescue world.  After searching up and down the expressway in the vicinity where the dog was seen, with no results, they were about to give up. Jennifer then saw the dog peeking out from an area overgrown with weeds and bushes.  The dog was terrified and shaking badly. Luring her out with treats, Cathy and Jennifer were able to pick her up and place her in their vehicle. They rushed the dog to the vet where it was discovered she was approximately and year and a half old, had recently given birth and had one of her canine teeth missing. She was also extremely undernourished and emaciated. The vet and the two rescuers hypothesized that the dog was either used for fighting or breeding, and when she no longer served her purpose she was thrown from the vehicle in hopes of killing her.

Cathy and Jennifer named the dog Willow since she was found in an area overgrown with brush. Today Willow has gotten over her fear of humans and is a loving, affectionate dog whose tail is always wagging. She gets along okay with other dogs but not cats.  She has been vaccinated, spayed and is heart-worm negative. Willow is currently in a foster home, but she cannot stay there because she has already gone after two of the cats. She does, however get along with the Bernese Mountain Dog she shares the home.

If you can help Willow have a better chance at life, please contact [email protected] and put “Willow” in the subject line.

  1. FLORIDA, TEXAS AND NORTH CAROLINA need to break off become their own state of inbred animal rapists. These states are such an embarrassment to the rest of the country.

  2. Would love to toss those 2 vile POS assholes out a moving car on a freeway. Right after kicking the shit out of both

  3. My tail is also wagging.
Some times the police are just too busy. its up to us to have a heart. like all those involved with this dogs rescue. heres to lay people who take it upon them selves. this dog was aware of the scarry others looking for her but she was just to scared they were back to finish the job.
She felt safe with the nice ladies. she waited for them. she was scared and alone.
    but never again.
    Good People.

    • So happy Willow was saved, but, now my concerns are the cycle will be repeated. A female dog giving birth to pups and that mommy will be disposed just like Willow.

      • so true linda,
and this is the root of the problem. all animals must be chipped and some how we need to develop departments to monatore animals like animal social workers.
they need to be considered and established as important natural resorces. we need to refunnal monies from ineffectual animal kill shelters and monitor puppies and their puppies to keep them out of the hands of profiteers and animal exploitators. we can do this with in 5-10 yrs.
This animal slavery thing has got to end. We need to all complain like hell. and document our letters.
And keep resending. The only way to make change is to get angrey as hell and shout in the streets
untill the right people hear it and do something about it.

  4. I swear Florida and Texas seem to have the most frequent and brutal acts of animal cruelty ever! But then we have Detroit and New York too! The brutalization of dogs and cats is so very rampant that I still do not understand the reluctance of our law makers and the judges in all 50 states not getting on board with harsh laws and severe punishment when caught! It’s absolutely mi d boggling and unreasonable in every sense! How are we to even begin to put a dent in this issue when the abusers face no repercussions for their horrific acts? Oh how I wish these two evil assholes would be caught, but then again why bother since they will not be punished in any significant way? SO RELIEVED THIS POOR FUR BABY WAS FOUND AND IS DOING OK!

    • Legislators seem to want to ignore the fact that animal abusers morph into human abusers. If they would punish these abusers with harsher sentences and keep them off the streets out of society, may be the world would be a little safer!

  5. There is an awful lot of this sort of abuse going on and nothing is being done about it by our judicial system. Too many of these abusers are not being arrested and if they are let go with nothing more than a “slap on the wrist”. It needs to be taken seriously! Thank you, Cathy and Jennifer for not giving up on Willow and bringing her to safety. We need more people like this in the world!

  6. Someone please help this sweet baby. I will share and pray for your rescue and future of love and happiness in your forever home. At least she is now out of harms way of those 2 fucking braindead pieces of shit who i hope get involved in some sort of tragic altercation with others of their own stupid kind.
