“He came over, he just looked at me like ‘I need your help’ and I just cried.” Words spoken by the woman who found a grievously wounded dog who was stabbed multiple times in Oklahoma City. According to KFOR News, the pit bull has injuries on his body which indicate that he was stabbed almost 20 times.

The dog, dubbed “Valor,” was found on the afternoon of August 18 outside of an apartment complex. The good Samaritan recounted what happened on a YouCaring Account which has been set up to help pay for Valor’s veterinary care:

“my mother called out to me that there was a dog outside my patio doors, bleeding. I had my phone in my hand, to call possibly animal control and walked outside. When I encountered the dog, it was bleeding from it’s head and my mom had ahold of his leash which I took from her and walked him away from my child to be safe. I then called 911.”

Jon Gary, the city’s animal welfare superintendent, told the news agency that the dog had to undergo emergency surgery for his injuries – he suffered internal damage, as well as injuries to his hind quarters.

Nobody knows who is behind this cruel incident, but the authorities are investigating. Valor will be released from the veterinarian’s care soon – at that point in time, he will be headed back to the animal shelter. The woman who initially discovered him hopes to be approved to offer Valor a medical foster home while he recuperates from his injuries.

  1. Bless the good Samaritan for not turning a blind eye to this injured dog. I hope they find out who was responsible and they are prosecuted.

  2. I am afraid the monsters are starting to out weigh the ‘nice people’. It’s horrible the way animals are abused!!! Anyone who abuses animals is nothing short of monsters!

  3. Thank you so much to the women who saved Valor! I hope this sweet boy will make a complete recovery! I hope and pray Valor is permitted to recover in his rescuers home, the last place he should be is in a shelter while trying to get better!

  4. This world is full of cruelty. Fortunately, there are those that balance it with kindness. God bless this big hearted woman that got this dog help. I hope she can care for him until he is well and rehomed.
