A pet-sitter in Pennsylvania is facing charges for cruelty to animals after a dog that she was watching suffocated in a muzzle that she had placed on him. According to Friday’s CBS Pittsburgh, a dog named “Tucker” was left in the care of Erin McGough back in July.

McGough claims that the dog bit her so she got a muzzle from her own dog and placed it on Tucker – she told the news agency why, “I went and I got the muzzle, and I put the muzzle from my dog onto [Tucker] because I don’t want to be bit, and I didn’t want my daughter to get bit.”

Unfortunately, the muzzle did not fit properly and Tucker somehow got out of his yard and ran away. The next day, Tucker’s body was found not far from his home…he was dead because he suffocated in the muzzle, which did not allow him to pant or breathe properly.

McGough claims that she never meant for this to happen and that it was nothing more than a tragic accident. She stated, “I was horrified … It wasn’t an intentional act on my part.”

  1. That bitch needs to be charged. She did not need to put the muzzle on him and she needs to be charged with this crime!!!

    • I agree! HUUUGE fine, meaningful jail time & a lifetime prohibition against owning or caring for animals ever again!!!

  2. I would like to know if this poor dog was trying to bite her how she managed to get a muzzle on him! If he was being aggressive I don’t think he would of allowed the muzzle to be put on him,I’m sorry but I just don’t believe her story! Poor dog! Such an awful way to die! My money is on her “punishment” being a small fine and probation. God I hope and pray nobody else uses her “services” because she is inept! RIP PUP

    • I was wondering the same thing, I know how hard it is to put a muzzle on my girl, and she isn’t trying to bite me. And then he escaped and it doesn’t sound like she even went to try to find him!. They might want to look into the care she gives her own dog. Poor Tucker, and his family what a heartbreaking way to lose your dog.

    • I would like to meet this dog murdering lazy ,lying bitch face to face to enact the required permanent payback. This bitch deliberately killed this poor dog and she needs to have the same treatment enacted!

  3. What a horrible thing to do and she didn’t even say she went to look for the dog. Poor dog was trying to get that muzzle off and couldn’t and because of her this dog died needlessly. Put a tight muzzle on her and see if she could breathe.

  4. The sitter must have had to use such force and strength to force the muzzle on Tucker for him to have had to suffocate. Btw was it necessary to muzzle him? He was outside where he wouldn’t bite her. I think she fucking lost it after allegedly being bitten.

  5. Hopefully her pet sitting days are over!!! You are taking care of someones fur kid….. you have no right to muzzle them….. would you gag their kids if you were babysitting?!?!?!?

  6. If you are using a muzzle, research it!!!!!! There are muzzle types that are safe and a dog can pant and drink water with it on. Like a Bakersville muzzle. Pisses me off!!!! Same with prong collars. They are a training tool, not to be left on all the time or for long walks. It’s a tool used to train in the yard or a facility. It’s a quick snap to distract behavior. NOT yanked into the neck or let the dog pull with it on. DON’T leave it on at all times.

  7. As a pet sitter, she showed gross negligence. You can not put a muzzle on a dog if it isn’t a proper fit. It should not be left on a dog for long periods. The woman was obviously ignorant of the potential dangers or she placed the ill fitting muzzle on the dog out of anger. If she advertised herself as a pet sitter, she is liable and should be charged with animal cruelty, animal endangerment and wrongful death. If this was just an arrangement between friends, it will be the end of a friendship. Her biggest mistake was putting the dog outside still wearing the muzzle. She sealed the deal with that action. She deserves to be punished because she killed the dog, no matter her intentions.

  8. I don’t believe one word of Erin McGough’s story – she literally murdered Tucker and personally I think SHE should be muzzled – some piss poor piece of work she is – I wouldn’t hire this bitch to clean my cat litter – she is a liar and an animal abuser – nothing will happen to her criminally because there is NO justice for animals – another skank who needs a huge dose of street justice.

  9. The sitter’s story doesn’t add up. There is more to this than we have been told. I wouldn’t be surprised that she has attacked the dog first, and got bitten for doing that. RIP Tucker

  10. It was an intentional act to put the muzzle on the dog in the first place. She murdered that dog and she should be held accountable. Once again, another dead pet/family member because if an idiot HUMAN.
