A dog, whose face was bound in duct tape, was rescued from conditions described as “cruel” in Lexington, South Carolina, reported Monday’s WACH Fox News. The dog, a Doberman dubbed “Tank,” was rescued after a good Samaritan, who discovered the concerning situation, took photos and went to social media with a plea for help.
One person who saw the photos decided to take action – she and a friend rescued the dog and rushed him to the Lexington Animal Control for help.
Tank is recovering at the animal control agency and he is not currently available for rescue or adoption because he is considered to be “evidence” in the animal cruelty investigation.
Tank is not the first dog discovered with tape on his mouth – Caitlyn, a chocolate colored pit bull mix, gained national attention after she was discovered with tightly bound tape around her snout. Recently, her former owner, William Leonard Dodson, was sentenced to prison time after being found guilty of animal cruelty.
