Recently, a disturbing discovery was made in Prince William County, Virginia. According to Wednesday’s Fox 5 DC News, the bodies of two dogs were found last Sunday afternoon – one in a duffel bag and the other in a plastic container.
Police in Prince William County were alerted to the upsetting situation by a person who was walking near railroad tracks in Dumfries – responding officers found one dog, a male pit bull, inside of a duffel bag and then the body of a female pit bull in a plastic storage bin.
The dogs’ bodies were taken for a necropsy – the results revealed that the dogs were approximately three years of age, but the cause of death could not be determined. Though little is known about this situation, the local authorities are treating this as a case of possible animal cruelty given the age of the dogs and the manner in which they were discarded. Anyone with information about this situation, or these dogs, is asked to call the local authorities.
