NO interest yet! Ruby has until 3:00. Please share her story.

No one knows for sure how Ruby ended up as a stray. It seemed to have just happened one sad day, and her life was to be changed forever. A volunteer tells Ruby’s story:

“One morning she woke up and her life as she knew it was gone. She wandered around the park with the saddest little face, yet nobody seemed to notice. Until a young boy became her hero and thought her life mattered. She happily followed him to the shelter where she met even more people – she was so excited at that moment in time. But today she sits on death row after catching the shelter’s cold – today she will die unless someone cares. NOT RESERVED – RUBY WILL BE KILLED .”

And so it begins – this young dog’s last hours that will quietly wind down with a final breath. Her only hope is to find someone who is willing to either find an approved rescue organization, foster home or adopter who will swoop in today to save her. A volunteer who interacted with this delightful dog had this to report:

“Ruby is a chunky dream girl! She was surrendered as a stray but looks well cared for and is very friendly and outgoing. She was well behaved and affectionate with her 14 year old finder (what a gal!). She seems housebroken, is super treat motivated, and absolutely lights up at the sight of a toy. She is a delight to be with and the shelter feels she will fit into a home with an average amount of dog experience. She has kennel cough and needs to find a foster or adopter.”

  1. OMG she is such a cutie please let somebody save her. I would adopt her myself if i was not so far away but living in Perth Western Australia it can never happen

  2. I wonder what happened to her owner? It would seem a beautiful dog like this would have someone looking for her. Sharing on Facebook, I hope she finds her way out.

  3. Being in Brooklyn Animal Death Row Ruby does not stand a chance – she looks to be part pit bull – which should make no difference BUT NYCACC is notorious for killing them in a heartbeat – thanks to the Death Director, Risa Weinstock who LOVES to murder them on a daily basis. NYCACC is as bad if not worse than Devore in CA. I pray Ruby is rescued and given a chance to get a safe secure home. NYCACC will never give her that chance.
