In Houston, Texas a five-year-old child grieves over the death of his favorite horse “Sunny” – shot in the head and left to die at the family’s ranch.

Tragically, this is the second case of animal cruelty having to do with horses shot in the head within the last two months. Both incidents occurred within a six-mile radius. This time, the heartless act occurred just before Christmas and left five-year-old Arian Brock crying his eyes out over the death of his palomino quarter horse.

According to NewsChannel10, the family believes Sunny had been shot by a high-powered rifle from a long distance. The horse did not immediately die and suffered until the family were able to humanely euthanize their pet. Camie Brock, Arian’s mother, stated the horse had been in the pasture when shot and when they found him, he had been in excruciating pain, bleeding to death and unable to move.

“I didn’t know what else to do but to lay down beside him and pray, put my hands on him. I told him I was there; it was ok, and I loved him,” Camie stated.

Just two months ago, another family went through their own devastating experience when  someone shot their pet pony “Chicken Nugget” at the family’s home in Liberty, Texas. Rylee Brett and Chicken Nugget had been best friends since the little girl was born.

According to the Chron, Chicken Nugget, who stood 25 inches high and weighed 80 pounds, dead. He had been shot in the head at close range. The family buried him that day on their farm.

“Rest in peace,” Kylee Brett, the pony’s owner wrote on Facebook. “You now have your wings and are flying high. You will never be forgotten, you will forever be missed. My heart is absolutely shattered as I try to find the words. The way you were taken from us was the act of a coward,”

Both families deserve justice and want the responsible person(s) punished. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Libery County Sheriff’s Department.

  1. It appears there is a CRISIS in TEXAS that is being overlooked by Governor ABBOTT and His ADMINSTRATION… and THIS STATE SERIOUSLY needs to develop a PLAN to DEAL with the Vast amount of CRIMINAL ACTIVIT{Y involving the Cruel maiming, murderous acts, torture being done to the animal population in General here ..Yet the judicial system is keeping their head in the sand when it comes to giving out justifiable sentences and repercussions ( they even refused to prosecute a youth that killed not 1 but 2 Bald Eagles ) last year in this Lone Star State!!!

  2. Pray the police find out who did this to both horses and do to them what they did to these horses-Chicken Nugget and Sunny. Not only did these horses suffer but the families, especially their children have cried so much over their loss of these horses. There is no justification for shooting these animals-none. Please law enforcement, find these cowards and put they away immediately.

  3. I hope you find the slug, low life, less than human waste doing this horrible thing!! KARMA….find this A.H. and let him have it!!!!!!!!

  4. The evil monster that did this, please find his coward worthless ass and take him to the woods and strangle him till he can no longer breathe! May hell awaits you when your time is up so you can forever burn in hell and spare the world from your evil acts!

  5. I can’t imagine the family’s heartache. That poor child that lost his beloved horse. He will see his horse dead in his mind for the rest of his life.

  6. There is a monster in Texas killing children’s pets. You might be able to monitor dogs in your yard and keep them in the house but what do you do with your horses? These poor children, having to deal with this! I hope someone comes forward and turns the coward in that is doing this!
