Bonded dogs at animal control after death of owner

Two beautiful, bonded dogs are behind bars at a busy, high intake animal control agency in Gardena, California after the death of their owner. On Sunday, the volunteer-run Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, wrote:

😪 OWNER DIED 😪

These two brothers are as sweet as they come but they are sad and confused after their owner died and they ended up in the Shelter. They are both super calm and loving and they need help now. Please SHARE, hopefully they can stay together, they have been through so much Loss already. A FOSTER or Adopter would save them. Thanks!

The dogs, “Todd,” and “Copper,” have lost everything that they once loved…their home, their family, their toys, their beds. Please help this bonded duo find a new family, where they can live out the remainder of their life.

  1. Another very sad tale of sweet and adorable fur babies in dire straights! It truly is so heartbreaking! I often wonder why if there is family of the deceased as to why they do not step up and take them in,or at least find a rescue to take them in or making an attempt at re-homing. Because now these lovely sweethearts are at risk of losing their life for no valid reason as far as I’m concerned. Will share them everywhere and prayer they will survive and find a loving home for both. So very disheartening and beyond tragic!

  2. Again the owner dies and no one in their family is willing to take in these poor dogs! Sharing in hopes they find a new family to love them.

  3. They must be kept together to try to separate them now could kill one or both! Unless you understand the dynamic between bonded animals you can’t possibly understand what it would do to them both mentally and physically! Why are so many males not being neutered same rules apply to females as well! First off they will live longer be less apt to have behavior issues and we all ready know that for both males and females cancer and bleeding issues are very real problems! I don’t know what it is with the male psyche oh I’m not cutting his balls off! Good then don’t bring your dogs to me when a mass appears!

  4. PLEASE some kind person step up for these boys – they deserve a safe loving home – their plight has left them scared and confused and no relative stepped up for them – Todd and Copper will give unconditional love and you will never regret saving them.
