Partially burned body of Rottweiler found

The discovery of a partially burned dog, found in Davenport, Iowa, has prompted an investigation by the local authorities. The dog, believed to be a Rottweiler, was found by public works employees in the area of Miller Ave. and South Concord Ave. last Wednesday (July 19), reported Monday’s KWQC News.

A haunting Facebook post provides more sad details about the disturbing case of what appears to be animal cruelty. Facebook user Brandi Anderson wrote:

The garbage men called police who came and said the dog was obviously burned alive as you could see where the poor thing had been running while on fire.

WQAD News reported that animal control was called out to the location and no microchip was discovered in the dog’s body. Now the Davenport Police are hoping that someone will come forward with information. Anyone who knows something about this dog, or what took place, is asked to call (563) 326-6125.

  1. I’m filled with profound sadness but anger as well! This beautiful dog died a horrific death! Someone knows who did this! They need to come forward! The guilty thing or things who did this must be put away and made to pay for what they did to this little one! I’m so sorry angel that you had to die this way at the hands of disgusting humans! Rest now your young and healthy once more! No fear, no pain! Always plenty of food and cool clear water! Run and play with your new friends! Good night angel I’m so sorry it went down like this!

  2. Qu’ils soient retrouvés et condamnés sévèrement pour cruauté à un animal. Pas de pitié pour les barbares.

  3. I live about 90 miles from Davenport. This makes me even sicker to know that it occurred in the state where I live. That poor dog suffered so horribly. Find the POS who did this to the dog and do the same thing to him. I’ll gladly provide the gas and a match.

  4. OMG running away while on fire; my heart shatters when I hear these horrific cases. Whoever can inflict some heinous cruel acts needs to be locked away from the rest of civilization. This was torture! Hell is holding your seat coward!
