Millions of people know Bob Harper as the hard-hitting fitness guru from the hit television show, Biggest Loser. Much to the shock of fans, Harper, a fitness and health expert, recently suffered a major heart attack in the midst of a workout at a New York gym. TMZ first broke the news of the health crisis two weeks ago which left Harper unconscious for two days.
One day ago, Harper commented about the frightening health scare, which has him walking his dog (Karl) instead of killing it in the gym, on his trainerbob Instagram account:
trainerbob Well I guess you all heard what happened. Two weeks ago yesterday I had a heart attack. I am feeling better. Just taking it easy. KARL has been a great nurse. I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of messages and support. It feels good to be cared about. I’ve been home for 8 days now. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I’m lucky to have such good friends and family to take care of me right now.
A subsequent Instagram post touches on his requirement to “just” walk his dog, rather than intense cross fit activity:
trainerbob I’m gonna miss doing #crossfitopen2017 this year with my #crossfitfamily The only exercise I can do right now is walking KARL around the city and in the park.
So how did something like this happen to a man whose entire life revolves around fitness? Blame it on bad genetics…he lost his mom to a heart attack.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Bob!

From the sounds of it, he’s lucky to still be around to walk Karl. Speedy recovery Bob Harper, Karl will take good care of you!
It is awesome the Karl is THERE for his BEST FRIEND !!!! I WISH them BOTH MANY LOVING AND CARING WALKS TOGETHER !!!
How is this important! This is s human being who had a heart attack! So what, he should be a hero for walking his dog around the city? Are you kidding? This is a human I don’t care about humans! With a few rare exceptions I can’t stand humans!
Thank God you are alive. Take care of yourself for your wife and kids, they need you…
Who knows. Many athlete’s have died of heart problems. There’s not always telltale signs.
