A Beckley, West Virginia man was caught on video abusing his dog on Friday. The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office immediately responded ending in animal cruelty charges and the dog having been safely rescued.
According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office Facebook, Jerry Hommey III, 35, was caught on camera kicking his dog, dragging it by the neck, picking it up again, throwing the defenseless animal to the ground and then dragging it some more.
“A male subject was observed by a citizen abusing a dog. The dog was kicked, drug by its neck, picked up and thrown to the ground and drug some more before it was hooked to a chain. The incident was captured on video, and the video was provided to the Sheriff’s Office. The male subject was identified as Jerry Hommey III.”
A warrant was later issued for his arrest. In addition, Hommey has other outstanding warrants for other crimes.
The dog is currently in the care of the Raleigh County Animal Control.
