The RSPCA is asking for the public’s help identifying the man who savagely attacked his dog for no apparent reason at the Wednesbury Oak Loop canal in Bilston, United Kingdom. The disturbing footage was captured by software manager Steve Childs’ security camera. The animal advocate is calling for people in the area to name the man and notify both the RSPCA and police.
According to the Express & Star, the RSPCA has been made aware of the video and have been working with authorities to find the dog and his owner. Childs was very upset and is worried about the pet’s welfare. While working at home, he heard the loud barking cries of a dog, prompting him to turn on his camera and catching the tail end of an extremely cruel act.
“The poor dog was doing nothing wrong at all; he was simply walking down the towpath and then gets beaten for no apparent reason. If he acts like that in the open (referring to the dog’s owner), what he does behind closed doors really worries me. That is my biggest concern. This dog needs to be rehomed.”
In the video the man is shown grabbing the dog and punching it while the dog cries and cowers into a ball. Seconds later the man grabs the dog, picks it up and hangs it over the canal as if threatening to throw the defenseless dog into the water. Anyone who recognizes this man or the dog is asked to contact the RSPCA at 0300 123 8018 or notify police at 101. Help this dog find justice before it’s too late.
