At the Augustine Heights Dog Park in Ipswich, Australia, cruel vandals left more than 250 thumb tacks mixed in with kibble all around the popular off-leash park over the weekend. Mayor Paul Tully had been home when a couple who owned a dog complained about the dangerous situation.
“They had helped clean up the park themselves and had recovered over 100 thumb tacks,” Mayor Tully stated. “The couple said that pieces of dried food were spread around with the thumb tacks.”
According to the Queensland Times, the mayor referred to the act as “absolutely disgraceful” describing how any dog swallowing the thumbtacks could have died an excruciating and painful death. The park, which is visited by many dogs daily, has been closed until officials are sure all of the tacks have been removed. Local dog owners were at the park on Sunday helping to clean up the mess. Calling the situation one that only the “sickest people in Australia with a total lack of any morals” could have committed, the mayor said he will urge the courts to punish the culprits with as strict a sentence as possible.
“Too often (the courts) treat these sorts of human animals with kid gloves tapping them on the wrist with a feather and sending them on their way. Serious jail sentences should be imposed on these disgusting individuals to act as a deterrent to others in the future.
On Sunday, the Ispsich City Council offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for those responsible.

No dog was harmed.
Force-feed the tack to these fukwads, when apprehended: Perhaps THAT might “make an impression”?
I hope that they catch the culprit(s) quickly. If it happens again, someone may very well lose their beloved furchild.
Another monster out to hurt our pets. I hope they find out who did this and they are charged and can sit in jail for a long time!
Sick. Whoever did this needs to be locked up for good!
PLEASE make it a priority to find these bastards – save the kibble w/thumb tacks and force it down their throats – since they thought it was OK for an innocent animal to digest – make them eat it. These SOBs MUST be found – they will do it again.
Whoever did this needs to go straight to PRISON!!!
If you know who did this…….and you do not report them? YOU ARE AS SICK AND AS BIG A MONSTER AS THEY ARE.
