The Polk County Police Department are investigating “ the worst cruelty to animal cases” they have ever seen. According to the department’s Facebook page, police officers and animal control personnel are helping 60 to 70  starving dogs found living behind a home on Cash Town Road in Aragon – 50 miles from Atlanta.

Police Chief Kenny Dodd stated the dogs, which appeared to be bulldogs or mixed breeds, were malnourished and some had been injured. As he walked through the expansive property, he continued to find chained dogs. Most of the dogs had no shelter, food or  water. The fire department pulled onto the property to make sure all the dogs were provided with water until they could be removed from the property.

“These dogs are not vicious,” Chief Dodd stated. “I have petted everyone of them myself. This breaks your heart.”

On Tuesday, the dogs were being removed from the property. Officers and animal control stayed at the property all night to guard the animals and keep them safe. There have not been any details provided about the owner of the dogs, however sources report an arrest has been made.

“I wanted the public to see how these dogs were being treated,” said the chief. He hopes homes can be found for all the dogs.

These dogs are in serious need of angels. The following was posted earlier:

  1. Who in the heck is responsible for cruelty of this magnitude? Goodness, I sure hope they are going to be prosecute for each and every count here. This is just insane.

  2. Until the authorities start punishing these POS people that do this to set an example that it will not be tolerated, this will keep happening!

  3. They are on a property…that has to belong to SOMEONE….even if it was being rented, the owners know who was renting from them….. HOLD EVERYONE RESPONSIBLE for this cruelty!

  4. Every property they find animals on in bad shape needs to be confiscated from the owner sold and the money goes to help the animals found. If someone owns property or rents it to Assholes that do this they don’t deserve the property. They need to be sure they know what’s happening in their property and they are responsible for it.

  5. The police must start by giving these things immediate jail time and not just six months. Years for what they did to these dogs. Those who have done this to these poor dogs should be punished the same way they made these poor animals suffered. Subhumans to treat animals like this.

  6. I saw a different video on face book. The police officer pet every dog as he was describing the situation. So very sad for these dogs to be left without shelter, food and water. And of course without love and companionship.

  7. Thank you Chief Dodd and your crew for saving the pups from such cruelty and the rescue people that came to help them too
I hope you charge this guy to the fullest. He done this before. He think he above the law

  8. And here we go again,on and on and on it goes! Until government in every state enacts and enforced new and strict legislation this sickening neglect and abuse will continue to grow and flourish. It’s nothing more than a vicious cruel circle. Praying for the well being of these precious fur babies.

  9. I will bet this is part of a dogfighting ring – why bother to prosecute the hunk of maggot shit that is responsible for the deplorable condition of these poor dogs – just nail the bastard to one of those trees and leave them to the elements – they deserve no better. Let the punishment fit the crime, otherwise nothing will happen since authorities deem animal cruelty as seriously as littering.

  10. Why not just chain up whoever owned these dogs……..all the people involved….take the dogs to shelters to get adopted and drive off…..serve them right!

  11. HONEST TO GOD THEY DO~!!!!
FORBIDDEN TO EVER OWN AN ANIMAL
AGAIN~!!!! FELONY CHARGES SHOULD BE BROUGHT~!!!!
    I AGREE WITH NANCY’S POST ABOVE~!!!!

  12. The black dog on the video with the scares make me wonder if he was used for dog fighting. The people of the property have to be around somewhere
