In Memphis, Tennessee, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the person(s) who abandoned two dead dogs in a kennel. The one-year-old dogs, a male and a female, were discovered last week abandoned in a travel carrier at the intersection of Barbera Road and Cotton Plant Road.
“The community needs to know what happened to these dogs and why their bodies were dumped like litter on the side of the road,” PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien stated “PETA urges anyone with information about this case to come forward immediately so that whoever committed an act of cruelty to animals can be held accountable.”
Memphis Animal Services have also offered a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest. The organization posted the disturbing photos hoping someone recognizes the dogs and can supply further information. The following message from MAS was posted to the public:
“We are looking for any information as to who is responsible for these dogs’ deaths or abandonment. The animal rescue community has raised money to collect a $500 reward which will go to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator(s).
Do you recognize one or both of these dogs? Did you see anyone with a dog kennel or loitering near this intersection Friday morning or Thursday evening? If you have any information, please call Memphis Animal Services at 901-636-1413 or message us on Facebook and leave a detailed message with the information you have as well as your name and call-back number in case we need to follow up with you.”
No details about the dead dogs have been shared. Help these dogs find justice. Share their photos; someone must recognize them.
