In a disturbing act of animal cruelty, authorities in Key West rescued three endangered Key deer bound with twine in both the back seat and trunk of a car after the driver of the vehicle was stopped on Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuges Complex, a deputy from Monroe County pulled the vehicle over in Big Pine Key because of a broken tail light. Moments later, the officer noticed two  deer struggling to get free in the backseat. He then found a third deer in the trunk. The two men, identified as Erik Acosta, 18, of Miami Gardens and 23-year-old Tumani Younge were arrested at the scene for multiple charges, including felonies and misdemeanors for injuring an endangered species, and animal cruelty. They were booked into Monroe County Jail.

The deer were untied, checked over and released back into the woods in an effort to prevent further stress. Two of the deer ran directly into the woods. The third, a buck was still around the area, grazing, but continues to be monitored by wildlife personnel.

  1. Thank god someone found this deer so happy he is rescued ugly creeps who did this hope they die & suffer on the hot desert & die bg

  2. I’m telling u the courts BETTER give these two imbeciles the MAXIMUM sentence! What freaking cruel assholes! Really pisses me off and I’m so glad they got caught!! Damn idiots

    • Cynthia, We all know the justice system is not for victims but for the criminals and abusers. So how about eye for an eye. in the truck of the car, tied up and leave it in the desert. Eye for an eye is the only thing that works for evil abusive people. That would make me smile to see the abusers suffer like their victims.

  3. What in the world were they doing? I hope they lock them up and throw away the key, these nut cases need to be put away!

  4. Thankful for the broken tail light otherwise I would hate to think what would have happened to these beautiful creatures.

  5. These two punks should be given the exact same punishment they gave these innocent animals – tied in the trunk of their own car and dump it in the everglades – they deserve no less. Thank God the deer were found in time and released. These bastards will continue to abuse animals if not stopped NOW!
