On Thursday, KC Pet Project made a joyful announcement to Facebook followers about an abused dog named “Roadrunner.” The organization stated, “Justice for Roadrunner! The former owner of the little dog, Roadrunner, who came to KC Pet Project in November 2014, plead guilty to felony and misdemeanor charges of animal abuse and abandonment today.”

Roadrunner was severely injured after being hurled from a third floor balcony and strangled with his leash – his injuries included eyes so badly wounded that they had to be removed and a fractured pelvis that required months of physical therapy.

According to Fox 4 News, his former owner, 38-year-old Kimberly Anderson, entered her guilty plea on Thursday. Anderson will be entering the Jackson County Mental Health Court and she is prohibited from possession of animals. She is also mandated to pay $200 in restitution to KC Pet Project and serve 120 days of shock time.

  1. Oh, yeah, and that is NOT justice! She needs WAY more jail time. Actually, I’d like to see her get the death penalty; but that’s just me….

  2. Just $200? She should have to pay back every penny that was spent for vetting, food, etc. for this sweet dog. PLUS a hefty fine – far more than $200. At least they got it right by not letting her have any other pets.

  3. 120 days! Are they serious!!! That poor dog endured months of medical treatment to walk again and will live it’s life out with no eyes due to her abuse. She deserves years in prison, what’s 120 days? 4 months… 4 losey months for what she put this innocent dog through? I’m horrified that any judge could let her off so easy, they mine as well done nothing. All she’s getting is a vacation paid for by the state. This judge needs to be disbarred and removed from the bench, the district attorney needs the same. Their punishment is a joke, they’re saying it’s ok to abuse and torture animals as nothing will be done if you do. This needs to be reopened, retried, and resentanced…

    • The Fox 4 News report says her sentence was suspended and she will serve 3 years probation. what is 120 days “shock’ time, and what is entering the Jackson County Mental Health Court mean? Never heard of these terms. Any way you look at it she is getting a slap on the wrist for severely injuring this poor dog. Why this is a “joyful” announcement I cannot fathom!

  4. You’re all wrong she deserves to have her f****** ice cut the f*** out so she can never ever see your hurt another animal and her f****** miserable c*********** life take the f****** backbreaker f****** face is one drop on a bat a f****** acid but make sure he’s awake and float

  5. I despises all animal abusers and one day they will meet God and then they will get there’s forever!!! What’s in a persons heart never goes away either she’s a freak of nature and deserves to be beat!

  6. Shock probation is the policy by which a judge orders a convicted offender to prison for a short time then suspends the remainder of the sentence in favor of probation. It is hoped that the initial experience of prison will provide an effective deterrent from recidivism.
She deserves to be shoved down a garbage disposal.
