Update 12/2/16: Rescued!!

A homeless dog, injured after being hit by a car, enjoyed cuddles with a volunteer who visited him inside of a busy California animal control agency. The dog, named “Ricky,” has “limited time” at the Baldwin Park Animal Services facility and he needs some help to get out.

Ricky was recently visited by Elaine Seamans, who described her interaction with the injured dog:

He crawled into my lap, using only his back legs. He’s part kangaroo right now. He doesn’t want to put pressure on his front broken leg and his broken shoulder. Wrapping his head around my neck, combined with him stopping trembling and relaxing while I put my arms around him has sealed my heart with him inside.

Seamans added, “He is really an amazing soul – stands up on his 2 back legs, wants in my lap, sensitive to the sounds of the shelter, seems to be fine with other dogs and non reactive to cats.” According to Seamans, there has been no interest in this injured dog, who has been at the facility since October 28.

Facebook thread here. The At-Choo Foundation would like to help Ricky by contributing to his veterinary care after he is out of the shelter. Click here to find the foundation.
