Thousands of people have been worrying over the fate of two very old dogs who were surrendered to the Carson Animal Services facility in Gardena, California, on October 16. The dogs, Sahadi and Atreyu were immediately available for rescue or adoption and as of Tuesday, both were safely out of the animal control facility.
On Tuesday afternoon, Frosted Faces Foundation, the rescue agency which pulled the duo to safety, wrote:
Atreyu and Sahadi were relinquished at the ages of 14 years old to Carson Shelter two days ago. Today they are on their freedom ride down to sunny San Diego as our newest Frosted Faces! The best of their lives are ahead of them, and likely also that of their new Forever Foster Family’s.
Better days are ahead for these two old dogs – life for this elderly pair did not end in a lonely kennel run.

Thank you frosted faces. I pet sat all week for a 14 yo lab. The thought of him being taken from his comfortable home and dumped on a cold shelter floor makes me shake with fear and emotions I can’t even name. Yes, he poops a little when he sleeps, he has lost some control, but I know the owners will take him to their vet when the time comes and hold him in their loving arms, wrapped in a warm blanket and say good bye in a quiet peaceful place

This is what saddens me more than anything else, a dog is for life and I couldn’t imagine giving all my dogs that have passed over to rainbow bridge up just because they pooped in the house or wee’d ! They have given me so much love it would be a sin , they have all gone in my arms knowing they are loved and we will meet again,it doesn’t cost much for a carpet washer!
