Two bonded senior dogs, who found themselves homeless after their cancer-stricken owner was transferred to a hospice facility, have found a loving home. According to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), the dogs, 18-year-old Bruno and 17-year-old Caramel have been adopted by two men, Bruce and Jim, who learned about them through Facebook.

The BARCS Shelter stated:

Bruno and Caramel found their angels! Meet Bruce and Jim, new daddies to our incredible, super-senior duo.

Adding:

“Bruce and Jim have vowed to love and care for Bruno and Caramel whether they have a week or a lifetime ahead them. When they picked them up today, Bruno was snuggled up in Bruce’s lap. He told our staff that, “Bruno has a lap every day for the rest of his life, whether it’s for a day, a month or for years.”

BARCS also let everyone know that the dogs’ former owner can rest easy knowing that her beloved pets are in good hands. The shelter stated:

BARCS staff spoke with their first mommy, who is in hospice care, to let her know her babies are safe and loved. She was overcome with relief.
