Every time a rescuer thinks they have witnessed the worst of a dog owner’s cruelty, another tragic situation occurs that begs once again for the miracle of a rescue organization stepping forward in the nick of time. Fortunately, for a two-month-old emaciated pup, now dubbed Harry, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC came to the pooche’s aid at the last minute.

“And the Emergencies keep coming … This 6 to 8 week old puppy was dropped at a high kill Georgia shelter today,” stated Stacey Silverstein, co-founder of the rescue organization.

“He is emaciated, with no temperature registering at this time and he is cold to the touch.  He is weak and cannot move. He is being rushed to our vet partner for emergency medical care. We have named him Harry and we hope we are not to late. Pray for him as he’s in critical condition. We have no information how Harry was left in this condition. As always we will do everything possible for this angel baby,” Stacey posted to their supporters and followers on social media.

And so Harry was saved on the day after Thanksgiving – a puppy who by no fault of his own nearly died.  By Saturday, Harry was being treated by the rescue’s partner veterinarians in Georgia. His medical staff determined Harry suffers from an inflamed gastrointestinal track which has caused him to bleed from the rectum. Had not Rescue Dogs Rock NYC committed to the puppy, he would have bled to death. He is now on intravenous therapy and will need constant fluids and more tests to determine the origin of his health problems.

  1. It’s too sad that the person or persons that had this pup didn’t love him enough to get him medical aid. Don’t get a dog if you can not commit to their care and well being.
