In Pensacola, Florida a tiger attacked his trainer at the Pensacola Interstate Fair on Wednesday after the owner of the show tripped and fell down. According to WearTV, Vicenta Pages was grabbed by the foot by their “trained” two-year-old Bengal tiger Ghandhi, who then dragged her by her ankle with his mouth across the demonstration area.

School children witnessed the upsetting situation as Vicenta shouted “Ghandhi, Ghandhi, no!” “Get over all the way, Gandhi, Gandhi,” Pages said, according to the video of the incident as the tiger attacked. “Hey, hey, hey, hey, Gandhi, no, Gandhi, Gandhi, Gandhi no!” Immediately, co-owner of the show, David Donnert, struck Ghandi multiple times in attempts to free the woman. As disturbing was watching the tiger being beaten with a stick even after he released the woman.

“The Pensacola Interstate Fair does not condone the mistreatment of animals. Pages’ White Tiger Show is not managed by the Pensacola Interstate Fair, it’s an independently owned and operated entertainment act,” stated fair publicist Katie King in a press release.

King stated that Ghandi had been having “playtime” with Vicenta before the scheduled show and apparently thought it wasn’t time to stop. Animal advocates are irate – wild animals don’t belong “performing” and balancing on balls or jumping through hoops.

“My daughter recorded it on her tablet,” Scott Caputo wrote in a post accompanying the video on Facebook, which has gone viral. “Holly thinks it was no big deal. I thought it was horrifying.”

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) reportedly shut the show down.

  1. Animal abuse like this will continue as long as humans use animals to entertain them by unnatural behavior that is torturous to these animals. The beating of this tiger long after he let go is meant to beat him into submission. How horrible for the animal and the audience.

  2. you fuking losers what do you want from a WILD ANIMAL I BET YOU BEAT THAT POOR CAT LIKE THIS TO GET HIM TO DO YOUR DAMN TRICKS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!! and PARENTS YOU ARE TO BLAME TO FOR SPENDING THE MONEY TO SEND YOUR KIDS TO THESE KINDS OF THINGS ZOOS CIRCUS ALL THE SAME YOU PEOPLE ALL SUPORT ANIMAL ABUSE

  3. They do not belong in shows or zoos for our entertainment!!! they are doing what comes natural to them and you beat them for it when it’s your own stupidity and it’s always them that suffer for it!! I hope they get taken away and either released back in the wild where they belong or given to a reputable big cat sanctuary.

  4. I hope this tiger finds his way to a sanctuary fast. I imagine the beatings will continue to get him to submit in the future. GRRRRR…..

  5. How ironic that the sign in the video says to be respectful….all the while, the poor tiger is being abused by the POS “trainer”. I feel sorry for the poor tiger.
