Quarter is a terrified little pup who has been moved to the back of Carson Animal Shelter where few would be adopters ever visit. On December 19, the five-year-old Chihuahua was surrendered to the shelter. A volunteer had tears in her eyes as she watched Quarter’s heart break:

“Sweet Quarter was very attached to his mom and when he was surrendered today he became very fearful when they did his intake. He is now in the medical building, and he needs help fast to find a home for the holidays…”

Click here his Pet Harbor listing. “My name is Quarter and I am described as a male, brown and white Chihuahua – Smooth Coated. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old. I have been at the shelter since Dec 19, 2016.” For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566. Ask for information about animal ID number A502031. A Facebook page can be followed here as advocates share his tragic plight with rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts.  A foster family could save his life.

According to shelter notes, Quarter seems to be good with children, but it is unknown how he does with other pets. He is not house trained nor has he been taught to walk on a leash. He will need obedience training. No matter how attached Quarter may have been to his owner, it is disappointing to realize there was little time spent helping this terrified pup become a good canine citizen.

    • I’d like 2 say I’m surprised…tho I’m just as upset, some people simply DON’T GIVE A DAMN! They’d probably do the same with their kids if they were a sudden inconvenience, or their mother when she becomes an old pain! We should revere our elders…I see them DUMPED DAILY!

      • Cheryl Hannah, do you have any news about him? I’m on tenterhooks awaiting updates to read that he has been chosen for adoption !!

  1. Moved to the back? Why on earth would the do that? Or is just so that he experiences less fear from noise and strangers? What a lovely little one, I hope that some way, and somehow he can find a loving family to adopt and properly house-train him.
